The weekend rolled around very quickly and before I knew it, I was standing in front of my building waiting for Paris and Aria to pick me up. I didn't feel anxious or anything but I did think a lot about how today could go. I didn't need to buy anything, so I'd really just be watching them spend the loads of money that they have. That's fine by me, I need to save up anyway.
I looked down at my phone to check for any messages when I heard a horn honk. I quickly looked up and around. A black Cadillac was double parked in front of the building while Paris and Aria waved from the window of the back seat. I giggled as I approached the vehicle.
As I did so, a man in a sleek black suit got out and opened the back door. Her driver was a very polite older man. I'd only seen him but never really spoken to him, so I'm not sure what his name is. "Hi, thank you." I smiled and ducked into the back seat. "Hey yall." I greeted everyone in the car as I got in.
Aria squealed beside me and squeezed me into a hug almost immediately. "Luna How are you! It's been so long!"
"I'm good. How are y'all?"
"Good, I'm glad you're coming with us." Paris smiled. "Did you want to come with us to get dinner afterwards too?" She added.
"Oh-uh sure." I shrugged.
Our conversation slowly dwindled down the longer we were in the car. I didn't mind that though, I wasn't really a big part of the conversation anyway. Just a few responses here and there. They spoke about things I didn't really know about so I couldn't comment much. They did their best to try and include me as much as possible despite my confusion.
When we arrived at the mall, I reached for the door to get out but that clearly wasn't what I was supposed to do because Paris looked at me like I had two heads. As I was getting out, her driver was coming to my side offering a hand and her bodyguard, Ares, was already out scoping the scene. "Thank you, sir."
Aria and Paris expressed their thanks as they got out as well. "We should be ready in about an hour and a half Boris. I will text if it'll be longer." Paris told her driver, Boris.
"Take your time, Ms. Paris." He smiled.
When he got back in the car, Paris and Aria led the way into the mall while myself and Ares followed behind them. Ares was completely silent and observant. I guess that was his job. But I swear I think I've only ever heard him speak once.
"So, Luna, Xavier told me you aren't working for him anymore." Aria commented. "Oh yeah, I'm having a tough semester so I needed a break from working so I could focus on school." I lied with ease.
"Understandable."
"So you've just been going to class and that's it?" Paris asked. "Pretty much. I try to get out sometimes but I rarely ever do." I admitted.
"You've gotta hang out with us more!"
"I'd love to."
"We're having movie night next Sunday and we'd love for you to join." Aria smiled.
"Oh yeah that sounds fun. Where at?"
"At my house." Paris answered. I nodded and we made our way into the first store.
Shopping with them was exactly how I'd imagined it. Fun but París literally will buy anything that catches her eye. She had so many bags that both myself, Aria, and Ares ended up carrying some for her. Ares insisted he carry them all but we couldn't have him do that.
"Is that it, Paris?" Aria huffed. "Yeah I think I'm done. I didn't reach my daily spending limit so that's good."
My eyes nearly bugged out of my head as I walked beside them. What the hell was her spending limit? My bank allows me to spend $5000 a day. She's spent way over that. I think she spent that in one store alone. I want to be rich.
After shopping we went out to eat at Bonefish and called it a night. I was sure to sleep well tonight after all the food I ate.
When I finally got in, I dropped my three shopping bags on my bedroom floor and my body made its way down with them. I laid on my back in the middle of the floor with my arms and legs spread out. I'm exhausted. As I laid there I got a chance to think about everything that happened today. Hopefully I didn't say or do anything embarrassing.
I heaved out a sigh and pulled my phone from my pocket. I really have been having fun with...friends. Maybe the next couple weeks won't be as hard as I thought they would.
