Even after leaving his office I could still feel my heart beating rapidly. I hated the feeling. Xavier was far to easy going for me to still be anxious. I just had to let it simmer down.
I grabbed a quick snack from the student center and sat outside of the lecture hall waiting for class to start. As I sipped on my drink I scrolled through Tik Tok laughing quietly at the jokes. When 3:20 hit, I made my way into the lecture hall. I continued to watch tik toks as the class steadily filled up. Barely anybody ever sat in my row so I didn't have to worry too much about moving to let people in.
Xavier walked in after a few minutes and class got started at 3:30 Exactly. I tried to focus and take notes but I kept finding myself mindlessly gazing at Xavier. Hopefully no one noticed.
"Excuse me." I heard someone whisper. I looked up at a guy who wanted to get passed me.
I quickly moved my bag to give him the room he needed. He sat two seats away from me and pulled out a notebook. "Hey, um could you tell me where we are in the text?" The guy asked.
"Yeah It's page 57, the third paragraph." I whispered as I looked over at him. He was really cute. His eyes were a hazel color, he had brown fluffy hair, and a tint of pink to his cheeks. He kind of resembled Timothee Chalamet. He looked like a freshman to be honest.
"Thank you so much."
"Don't worry about it." I replied. When I turned back to give Xavier my full attention he was already looking in my direction with a pointed expression. I brushed it off thinking he was looking somewhere else and continued to take my notes.
"Your notes look sick." The guy whispered after a few minutes passed. I will admit I am that girl who color codes and adds diagrams and shit to my notes. But to be fair it just helps make a boring class more fun and it keeps my notes organized so when I study its easy to remember. "Thanks." I whispered back with a small smile. "They're so neat and detailed. You should post them on this site that will pay you for it."
"They have one of those?"
"Yeah, i can send you the link if you want."
"Please do."
I gave him my phone number quickly and no more than six minutes passed before he texted me the link to the website. I texted back a quick thank you. He replied with, "No problem, Im Mason btw."
"I'm Genesis :)"

When class ended Mason and I walked out together exchanging light conversation. "What year are you?" He asked.
"Sophomore, you?"
"Freshman." He smiled. He smiled a lot it was actually kind of refreshing. "How are you liking the school so far?"
"I really like it. Its a lot harder to make friends than in high school though."
"Trust me, I know. I still only have one friend."
"Could I be your second?"
"Yeah, and I'm proud to be your first." I replied with a smile. It sounded corny but he seemed to appreciate it judging by the smile that broke out onto his face. "Do you have any other classes today?"
"Oh heavens no. I'm getting ready to go home."
"Same, you on campus?"
"No, How are the dorms treating you?" I asked knowing that freshman were required to stay on campus. "Terribly. Those communal bathrooms are truthfully disgusting."
"I hear you. What sucks is that all the freshman and sophomore dorms have communal bathrooms. I would've stayed on campus this year if it wasn't for that."
"You're lucky."
"Yo Mason!" Mason and I looked in the direction of the person calling his name. He shook his head with a slight frown as he looked at a group of three people. "Those are my group members. I forgot we were supposed to meet up." He said as his frown became more apparent.
"Ill be right there!" He called back to them.
As he turned back to me I noticed Xavier coming out of the lecture hall. He glanced in our direction and furrowed his eyebrows. I offered him a smile but he turned and kept walking.
"I'm sorry Genesis I've gotta go, but it was nice to meet you! I'll text you."
"Alright see ya Mason." I faked a smile as he walked away because I was still thinking of the way Xavier walked away. Maybe he just didn't see me. Hopefully he didn't.
