After an hour passed I'd fully checked out of studying. I honestly could only study for about 45 minutes to an hour straight and I always needed breaks before starting the next 45 minutes. I placed my laptop on the couch beside me and stood.
I had a horrible crick in my neck from sitting slouched over staring at the screen for an hour straight. I rubbed my neck softly and rolled my shoulders.
While I'm taking a break I'll just organize some of Xaviers paperwork.
I walked around the large desk and stared down at all the stacks of paper. A lot of it looked like miscellaneous items with details printed on them that I didn't feel right reading. Once I got the Gist of what was in each pile I organized the stuff in order of level of importance, purpose, and then alphabetized it. I got everything into folders and sat them on top of each other neatly.
Afterwards I cleaned up all the stray blank papers from his desk and straightened out the very few Knick knacks that he had. By the time I had finished and was pushing his desk chair back in he was stepping into his office.
"Hey." He greeted softly. "Hi. I finished up."
"This looks great." He smiled. He stepped around the desk standing very close to me so he could take a look at the way i organized his files. "Alphabetical order too? You're efficient."
"Thanks." I smiled as I took a step over to get around him. "Were you able to get some work done?"
"Oh yeah, a lot actually."
"Are you leaving?" He asked when he looked over at me. I had begun putting away the few things I'd had out. "Oh yeah, aren't you?"
"No i wish." He sighed. "Whats on your agenda now?" I asked curiously. "It's getting late."
"My other job." He replied. I raised an eyebrow, silently asking him to elaborate. "I am a personal cooperate attorney as well as a professor."
"Right, right. I forgot that you mentioned you were a lawyer. I guess I just thought you didn't really practice."
"Not really a particularly traditional sense anymore. I work for a family with all of their legal needs. I hardly ever have to go to court, I'm usually just reviewing contracts for them."
"Were you always a cooperate attorney?" I questioned. "No, i started off as a criminal defense attorney. The last case I worked as a defense attorney was defending someone from the family i work for now. They heard I was looking for a different path and the rest is history." He shrugged Cooly.
"That is really cool. What made you go into law?"
"My father actually. He's a lawyer and when I was little I used to think it was so cool. Bring your kid to work day was like a temporary heaven when I was younger." He chuckled. I smiled and mumbled, "that's adorable".
"Those were your parents i saw you with right...at Agava I mean."
"Yep my parents and my sister."
"You have a nice family. If I didn't know any better I'd assume your whole family was just a bunch of models, I swear." I slightly rambled absentmindedly. A tinge of a blush tinted his cheeks before a smirk brewed. "So what I'm hearing is...you think that I'm handsome."
I giggled softly and shook my head. "I mean it's open for interpretation." I shrugged.
"Right, right." He smirked. Was he flirting? Were we flirting right now??
I let out a real laugh and pulled my bag up onto my shoulder. "I should get going. I don't want to keep distracting you from your work."
"Trust me, you're a nice distraction. Can I walk you out?"
