The rest of my weekend was boring to say the least. I actually spent a good portion of it emailing Xavier back and forth about one of the job opportunities. It was like a PA position. But it didn't specify what Professor it would be for. I could get virtually any Professor to be a PA for basically.
It was a more demanding job than the tutoring gig but then again a lot of the professors just wanted organizational help. It wasn't like being a TA though because I wasn't required to instruct classes on their behalf or grade papers. I was supposed to keep their schedule organized, schedule meetings for them, help making sure files between the professors and TAs were good, etc. It was an easy job that was offering $15 per hour. Xavier said that technically it isn't marketed as work study but could still be considered work study.
I decided to just apply for both of them and whichever one I get hired for I'll take. If I get them both I'll just have Nadia help me choose.
I entered our apartment quietly since I wasn't certain if Nadia was asleep or not and made my way to my room. I wanted so badly to go right in my room and go to sleep but unfortunately I couldn't.
I accidentally fell asleep at home last night instead of making the drive back here after dinner. I had to get up extra early this morning so I could get back here in time to get ready and get to class. I took a quick shower. I'd been wearing my hair down the past couple days, so I decided I brush it down into a slick ponytail. Once that was done I tied on a scarf and went to get ready.
I decided on black cargo pants that were too tight for my liking, a black graphic tee, and black and white Nike Dunks. I put on my clear framed glasses from my dresser and made my way back out of my room.
"Oh your home!"
I nearly jumped out of my skin at the sound of Nadias voice. "Yeah, hey. You scared me." I greeted as I rested a hand over my heart. "Sorry. I missed you though. Did you get back last night?"
"No I got here like an hour and a half ago. I've gotta get to campus early to do some last minute studying for the quiz."
"Oh okay, we can go together let me just get my bag."
"I'll be in the car."

The day went by agonizingly slow. I'm pretty sure I failed the test I took in my math class, and I really just want to go back in the house. But I couldn't because I have one last class.
"Call me when it's over I'm going to The Brew." Nadia said. I nodded in response and started to walk away. "Yo, Genesis!"
I was slightly caught off guard at the sound of my name and the sudden presence beside me. "Mason, hey." I greeted.
"What'd you do this weekend?" He asked. "Oh nothing really. Just Got my nails done and did my hair. What about you?"
"Almost ended up hospitalized from alcohol poisoning but hey I'm alive." He chuckled. "Jeez." I winced.
"It was horrible. The party I went to was fun though."
"I hope so."
"Let me see your nails." He said. I held my hand out with my fingers outstretched so he could look at them. "These are sick. Next time you get them done you should got the natural nail shape and get like dragons on them or something."
"Not a bad idea I'll take it into consideration." I smiled. He opened the door to the lecture hall and allowed me to step inside. We continued to whisper to each other as we made our way to our seats. Xavier stepped inside a few moments after but considering that he was early, Mason and I kept up light conversation.
"How's that project you have going?" I asked quietly. "Okay, my group is filled with idiots. I'm not even kidding, the one guy spent the weekend under the floor boards in his frat house so he did none of the work we have due tonight."
I held back my laughter at the absurdity. "That's tough, can't you switch groups?"
"I could but the Professor hasn't emailed me back yet."
"Some Professors are terrible in that way. They never get back to you fast enough." I sighed. "I know. I get it though, I'm sure they have hundreds of students but this requires urgency. If I have to choke on the one girls perfume and hair spray again I'm gonna off myself." He whispered back.
"Don't joke like that." I laughed softly. I was doing my best not to laugh to loudly since the lecture hall was filling up quickly. The room was filled with incoherent chattering. I doubted that anyone would be listening to us but I still didn't want to be loud.
"I'm just saying." He chuckled. "Hey would you want to grab something to eat with me after this?" He asked.
"I would love to, but I can't. My roommate and I carpooled today and she's gonna want to go as soon as I'm done here." I frowned.
"Oh that's okay. Tomorrow?"
"Yeah tomorrow works. What time are you thinking?"
"One? Meet at the student center?" He offered. I nodded in agreement just as Xavier started to fix his mini mic to his shirt letting out a brief 'good afternoon'. "Sounds good."
