"Come on, Luna! We're already running behind!" Mason yelled.

I hurriedly pulled my Uggs on and rushed out of my room. "Bout time." He huffed from the couch. "I don't know about this." I said in an unsure tone as I made it into the living room.

"What's there not to know? We're gonna have fun!" Mason exclaimed. "There's gonna be a crowd and I'm still feeling a tad queasy. Maybe I should just get back in bed." I said as a means to get out of this event.

"Oh no you don't." Mason said as he grabbed me and spun my around. "Let's go."

I mistakenly told Mason that I had never been to a school game before and he took it as his personal responsibility to drag me to the basketball game tonight. Although I'd promised myself that I'd try to get out more I was still nervous about the crowd. I also know nothing about basketball so I'll be sitting there confused majority of the time.

I guess I know enough to cheer when our team makes a shot. Maybe that's all I really need to know.

Mason drove us to the arena and the longest part about the commute was finding a place to park. "Right there, right there!" I pointed.

Mason damn near ran someone over to get into the parking space. "Damn! Are you trying to kill them!"

"Look, they were in my way." He huffed. I pinched the bridge of my nose and sighed.

We made it into the stadium and it took us about five minutes to find somewhere to sit. "See I told you we should've left earlier!"

"Oh hush. We've got good seats and food. We are good," I laughed. I can't believe this conversation wasn't happening the other way around.

We sat together and chatted while we waited for the game to start. "Bro I can't believe there's three weeks left in the semester." Mason sighed.

"I know right! I'm glad I'm passing all my classes this time around." I laughed. "Me too, I have you to thank for that. I passed my last exam because of you."

"We should study together for finals." I suggested. "I'm down. Name the time and place and I'll bring snacks."

Through the past month, Mason and I have undoubtedly become better friends. He was nice to hang around and because he was frequently joking around he kept me distracted. Although Nadia and I kind of patched things up, I found myself talking to and hanging with Mason more frequently than her.

"Okay so which one are we?"

"The ones in red." He laughed. "Okay, how do they get started."

He explained to me the rules of the game and what I needed to know to understand some things.

Mason kept our conversation low when the game started and we spent majority of the time talking about which players we thought were good, cute, or bad players.

Our school ended up winning the game and everyone was going crazy. I can't believe I chose to never come to these. This is actually really fun.

Mason linked his arm with mine as we walked. "I don't want to lose you in the crowd." He explained.

We managed to get out to the parking lot in just under 20 minutes.

As we walked through the lot we stumbled upon a group of people shot gunning beers behind their pick up truck. "How y'all doing?! Want a beer?" They offered.

"What the hell." Mason shrugged. I gasped and tried to keep up with his quick steps. He grabbed the unopened can and stabbed the side with his keys. I watched him down the whole can in under twenty seconds. The other guys cheered for him and passed one over to me.

It seemed weird and unsafe but I didn't want to ruin the moment. No more Debby downer Luna. I let Mason open mine before copying the actions I saw him take. The beer leaked down the side of my face as I attempted to keep up with the fast flowing liquid. When I couldn't take anymore I hurriedly tilted my head downward and pulled the can away. "That's enough." I laughed as I wiped my face.

After our mini party in the parking lot, we headed back to the apartment. "Oh that was golden I'm glad I got it all on camera!" Mason laughed. I gasped loudly and slapped his arm. "You better not have put me on your Instagram story."

He winced. "Sorry."

"Mason!"

I pulled my phone out and went to watch the video. His story was so long that the little lines at the top were the size of grains of salt. Most of the videos were of the game. He got a good picture of the two of us on there and I reposted it to my own story. The last few videos were of me and Mason shot gunning the beers. I reposted one of those as well.

Although I was having fun with my friend I couldn't help but think about how much more fun I would be having if I were ending the night with Xavier. I sighed at that thought and looked out of the window longingly.

"You good over there?" Mason asked.

I looked over for a second and nodded. "I'm good." I smiled.

Just missing my man. I got a notification from Instagram when I looked away.

It was a message from Aria.

Damn girl we've gotta hang out more, I didn't know you were this fun lol

I texted her back jokingly saying when and where. She replied almost immediately with an invitation to go shopping with her and Paris this weekend. I didn't give much thought to it and just agreed.

"You want to go straight in?"

"I mean we don't really have much else to do." I shrugged As I looked over to him. "Did you want to do something else?" I added.

"Nothing in particular...Im just not really ready to go back to my dorm yet." He replied.

"Well do you want to come up and play a couple games of Uno?" I offered.

"Sounds riveting."
