I laid with my head on Xaviers chest and my leg draped over his. My eyes wavered every few minutes as he rubbed soothing circles on my back. I wasn't quite ready to sleep yet. Despite us having just went a few rounds and me being exhausted I wanted to stay up a little longer. "Talk to me." I mumbled.
"About what?"
"Anything I just like hearing your voice."
"I once had a pet rabbit. His name was chip." He told me. I laughed softly at the revelation. "What's something no one knows about you?" He asked.
I furrowed my eyebrows as I really thought about it. I didn't lead much of a scandalous life so I had very little to keep secret. Anything that I did that could even qualify as a secret someone, whether it be Nadia or my parents, knew about it. My relationship with Xavier is the most scandalous thing I've ever done. But there was one thing I'd done well to hide about myself. "I don't know how to ride a bike."
"What?!" He laughed. "Don't laugh."
"How don't you know how to ride a bike?"
"Well my dad tried to teach me but it just never stuck. I was never really an active kid so we just left it alone."
"That's gold." He laughed. I found myself laughing along with him at the silliness of my words. "Alright your turn. What's something no one knows about you?" I asked.
"I...I really want to be a dad one day."
"Aww really?"
"Yeah. I almost was but uh she wasn't ready." He shrugged. Despite his shrug I could tell that it still saddened him. I think that you never really think about how there are cases where a woman doesn't want kids but a man does. I'm sure that sucks.
Especially at his age you would think he'd be actively working on having kids. "I'm sorry love."
"It's okay. Just wasn't the right time."
"Do you want a son or a daughter?" i queried. "If i'm lucky i'll have both. By a miracle i'll get two daughters and two sons." He replied.
It shocked me how he could be spend his time so frivolously with me instead of going out to find someone to have that with. Another sign that this fun we're having isn't gonna last long.
"Do you wants kids...in the future I mean?"
"I'd love to have a daughter. But in like 10 years. I want to at least somewhat have my ducks in a row. Or I'd like to have kids by 25." I shrugged.
"Have all the fun you want while you're young. That's what my mom says anyway."
"She's a wise woman." I said before I let out a yawn into my hand.
"That she certainly is. Go to sleep love, I'm sure you're exhausted."
I only nodded as he pulled the blanket up over us.
:::
When I woke up this morning, I was alone. I curled up with the blanket covering my body head to toe. My body was sore so I didn't have it in me to get up until about thirty minutes after I actually woke up.Xavier was nowhere to be found but I decided to just get myself together for the day instead of pondering on his whereabouts. I made his bed and straightened his room up before finding my way to the guest room.
I took a shower and got dressed in sweatpants and a random t shirt. When I looked in the mirror I furrowed my eyebrows as I stared at my clothes. Upon further assessment I realized that what I was wearing wasn't mine. The pants and the shirt were both Quincy's.
I played with the material of the shirt as I search my memory for a moment where I'd even saw him wearing these. The first memory to cross my mind was when I'd asked where he even got it in the first place.
'Where'd you get that shirt?'
'You wouldn't believe me if i told you.'
He was always so dramatic. He just got the AC/DC graphic t shirt when he went to Florida. I chuckled at that thought and brushed my hair into a ponytail. I tried to do it as gently as possible because my scalp was sore. I've gotta tell Xavier to stop pulling my hair like it's a damn leash.
It always feels great in the moment but in the morning it feels like someone hit me in the head.
I marched down the stairs ready to give him an ear full. I looked in the living room, his gym, and the kitchen and I didn't find him. I went to look in the office when I heard multiple sets of voices. My eyes widened and I looked around frantically. Fuck Me.
The voices were accompanied by footsteps and I turned to get the hell out of dodge. The steps were becoming louder despite my frantic running. As the voices became clearer I knew I wouldn't make it to the steps in time. I quickly ducked into a closet and mentally cursed myself for coming downstairs in the first place.
"I'll just show you what I added to the basement." I heard Xavier say as the footsteps passed the closet. I waited until the steps faded and a door opened and closed.
To be safe I waited an additional 5 minutes before opening the closet door. I ran like a track star to get to back upstairs without being caught. I went to his room to find my phone so I could see if he'd sent me any messages about his guests.
Sure enough I had a text message from a minute ago letting me know that his parents decided to visit unannounced.
FUCK
I sighed heavily and collapsed onto the bed. Hopefully they wouldn't be here long. I mean how long could his parents possibly need to be here anyway.
