Three days went by and I hadn't heard from Xavier. He was usually texting me often or at the very least sending a funny video. But I got nothing.
I assumed that he just needed a little space to get things done and to prepare for the start of the semester. If we're being honest so did I. I was also spending the better part of the past couple of days thinking about what I heard Aria saying.
"It was more than just flirting..."
Her words played in my ears like a boomerang. What could she possibly have meant. Thinking about it made me forget about how I hadn't spoken to Xavier for the most part. I couldn't help myself so I used some skills I got from Nadia to find his last assistant. Much to my surprise she was right.
The girl, Juliet, and I did look similar. Only her eyes were lighter than mine and her skin was a little darker.
"Damn Lulu what you gonna buy now? An extra pair legs for all this shit you keep buying?" Daddy asked over the phone as I stumbled into the house. I would say My back to school shopping process was very simple but let Daddy tell it I was doing way too much. "I needed more sweats."
"I don't know how. You have tons."
You could never have too many pairs of sweatpants. "This is the last of my back to school shopping I promise." I laughed. "I certainly hope so. This is the sixth time you've told me you were shopping in the past week."
"Im finally getting around to treating myself." I shrugged despite him not being able to see me. "Well I guess that's good sweetheart. When will you be here. You know the game starts soon."
"Yeah I know, Im about to put the dip on and then Ill be on my way over."
"Alright, text me when you're on your way."
"Will do, daddy. Ill see you later."
After hanging up the phone, I lugged my shopping bags into my room and allowed them and myself to drop to the floor. Im so glad I got my shopping finished. All I needed to do now was have my last bit of fun and start getting mentally prepared for school. College can be a shit show so I wanted to start getting my mind right for it. I wasn't sure what to expect from this semester. I was honestly really nervous, but I wanted to start the semester off on the right foot.
I have my work and school schedule set, but I won't have much support or people to talk to on campus. Of course I'll have Xavier but I can't talk to him everyday all the time. Maybe I can just talk to Mason.
I put my stuff away and went to the kitchen to get started on the Buffalo chicken dip my brother requested. Much to my surprise Nadia was standing at the counter cutting up fruit. I ignored her presence and started getting things out for the food. I could feel her gaze on me a few times as I prepared everything but she remained silent.
"You've been out a lot." She spoke. I looked at her for a second and scoffed. "Wow I thought you were too far up Erin's ass to notice."
"Erin and I broke up."
I kept my expression neutral. I wouldn't take the bait she was offering. She wasn't going to do this to me again. "Oh." I replied. "I'm sorry." She said after a moment of silence.
"You were right. You're always right." I refused to look at her as she spoke. I wasn't going to crack this time. "I don't deserve your friendship or your forgiveness because I was a bitch. I shouldn't have said the things I did."
I sighed heavily as I continued to prep the chicken. "I'm going to go to therapy." She added.
"That's good for you." I nodded seriously. "I miss my friend."
