Xaviers POV
"Enjoy your summer!" I waved to the security guard as a exited the building with the box of my personal items. I just finished cleaning out my office after submitting final grades. My last order of business on this campus was to sign my resignation papers at the deans office.
"I can't believe this is it for you." Jordan said when I came outside. He was leaned against one of the pillars with his sun glasses on and his arms crossed. "I'd never thought I'd see the day that you gave up your profession for someone."
"If it's not obvious yet, She's not just anyone." I smiled. "How are we celebrating?"
He joined me in my walk to my car. "I don't have any plans for tonight and I'm sure Aria invited you to dinner tomorrow."
"Well we need to celebrate. So meet me in like an hour." He clasped my shoulder as we made it to the corner. While I crossed the street he headed in the other direction. I checked my watch for the time. It's already 6:30pm.
I dropped my stuff off to my car and made it to the deans office in under ten minutes. "Xavier I cannot say that I am happy to be meeting you under these circumstances." He said upon my arrival.
"I wish that I could agree, Dean Stavros. I have been given a great deal of opportunity here. But it is my time to go back to practicing full time."
"I do hope you keep in contact." He smiled as he slid the thick packet of papers across his desk. I took my time to read them through before I signed them.
I left his office with the feeling of a weight being lifted from my chest. I didn't feel like I would, but I survived my time away from Luna. Now I can finally be with my girl.
I pulled my phone out to check her location. She wasn't anywhere near campus, so she must've been at home with her parents. If she wasn't out of town I'd be driving to her right now. It may be too extreme to show up at her parents house despite how much I miss her. I wanted to at least show that I have a little restraint, but the truth is...I don't.
So I texted Jordan to tell him something came up and went straight home to freshen up. I want to look my best when I see my girl.
I didn't get on the road until almost 8pm. She's an hour away but that's nothing when the reward is seeing her. I'd drive anywhere to get to her.
When i made it to her city her pin on the map was moving from some diner towards a residential area. I figured that she was on her way home and because I don't know exactly where she lives I made a pit stop to the gas station. I grabbed a couple of her favorite snacks so that I wouldn't show up empty handed and paid for my gas.
By the time I was done she had arrived to wherever she was going. I was hopeful that this was her actual house. It would be crazy if it was like her friends house. I'd look like a psycho stalker boyfriend.
Somehow that thought didn't stop me from going to where she was. The closer I got the tighter my throat felt. My palms began to sweat and my heart raced in my chest. We finally made it.
I pulled up in front of a quaint White House with a large yard. The blinds were closed in the first floor windows but the curtains were open and the lights were on in one of the bedrooms upstairs. I got out of my car just as I saw a shadow in that window. A few seconds later I saw her. She was pulling her hair back into that claw clip style as she walked passed the window.
A grin spread across my face and the feeling of yearning only grew stronger. I leaned against my car and dialed her number.
"Hello?"
"You know, you should really close the blinds when it gets dark." I teased. "What?" She laughed.
"Come to the window."
