Luna's POV
"Ha! Draw eight." I laughed evilly.
"Nah how about you draw this twelve." Mason mocked me as he dropped another draw four on top of my draw four card.
I narrowed my eyebrows and dropped yet another draw four. He groaned loudly, drawing attention to us from other people in the lounge. Despite the mean mug on his face he plucked his cards anyway and I declared the color blue before putting down a card.
I had four cards in my hand and he was holding 18. "I'll never forgive you for this." He joked.
"You'll get over it." I laughed.
We played out the rest of the game and of course I won. It was my third win in a row. "You cheated for sure," he huffed as he moved to take a seat beside me. I'd agreed to three games and then we'd get back to work.
"I just played the game, man. It's not my fault you're bad at Uno." I shrugged. He scoffed with wide eyes.
"I'm not bad at anything." He lied. "You're bad at math." I pointed out with a laugh.
"Oh very funny." He mocked. I laughed softly for a few seconds before taking hold of his laptop to view his math work.
We finished up our homework quickly before heading out. "You want to grab dinner with me?" He asked as he held the door for me.
"Yeah, I was gonna order takeout anyway." I shrugged.
We agreed to meet at the Italian restaurant a few miles away from campus. It took very little time to get there and when we did I was struck with a feeling of dejavú.
Upon being seated, I caught sight of a certain family of blondes. A few feet away Xavier sat with his parents and Aria. There was another man sat next to Aria that I assumed to be her boyfriend. They, as always, looked stunning.
They had to be the best looking family I've ever seen.
"Chicken Parm sounds good." Mason mumbled.
"Bro try something different." I encouraged. He eats the same thing every time we get food. A burger or chicken Parmesan. "If I do, you have to."
"Okay."
"I have an idea, Let's pick each other's meals." He suggested. "What?"
"You heard me, let me pick what you eat. We can share too, if you want." He offered.
"Alright, make it good mister."
"Will do." He laughed.
I found a simple pasta dish for him. A creamy Tuscan pasta with Chicken. "What'd you pick?"
"The stuffed shells, thankfully they have a turkey option. I know you hate ground beef." He said as he pulled out his phone.
"Texting that girl from your dorm?"
"Maybe." He blushed. "You never showed me what she looks like."
"Hold on let me get a picture."
He scrolled through his phone for a bit before turning it to me. On the screen was an Asian girl with striking eyes, long black hair, a button nose, and freckles that covered the bridge of her nose. "Oh my god, she's so pretty!"
"Did you ask her out?" I asked. "What?! No!"
"Why not?"
"Because I got nervous. She's so pretty and it's just intimidating." He groaned.
"If it helps you can practice what you want to say on me. I can give you tips. I know I'm not the most socially inclined but I am a girl and I do know what might make her a little interested."
"Okay great! So if I say, "did you fall from heaven cause your wing look a little broke", do you think she'll give me a shot?"
"Boy she gonna laugh at your ass and walk away." I deadpanned. "I have no rizz abilities." He sighed.
"Shit me either but I know that isn't gonna go in your favor." I laughed. "Try asking her what classes she's taking or what her major is."
"Yeah but like it's weird for me to just go up and ask that."
"Okay, you said you're cool with her roommate so get her to introduce you."
"I'll try."
The waiter came over shortly after and we ordered our food. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom real quick." I excused myself but he wasn't paying much attention since he'd started stalking the girls Instagram.
"Yeah okay." He mumbled as I stood to walk away.
I was relieved that my venture to the bathroom didn't involve walking past Xavier and his family. I don't need anything to make my night awkward.
The bathrooms were singles so I didn't have to worry about anyone hearing me pee thankfully. I think that's one of the most awkward things ever. I handled my business and headed back to my table.
On my way there I bumped into someone by accident because I wasn't paying attention. "Oh my Im so sorry!"
"It's—Genesis?"
"Oh Aria! Hey!" I greeted with an awkward smile. "Oh my God it's so funny seeing you here. Are you with family or on a date?" She asked.
"I'm actually just with a friend. You?"
"With my boyfriend, parents, and Xavier actually." She told me happily. "Oh nice. Pass along a hello for me?"
"I could but why don't you just come over and say hello real quick. I'm sure my mom would love to finally meet you." She suggested.
"Oh I don't kno-"
"We're right over here." She said as she linked her arm with mine. I guess she wasn't making a suggestion.
"Alright."
She led me back the way she came which conveniently was a different path than what I took so I didn't walk past Mason. I did however look over to our table to see if he was watching. He wasn't. He had his head in his phone, probably obsessing over that girl.
"Look who I bumped into!"
I turned back around and offered a smile to the people before me. Xaviers expression seemingly brightened when he saw me. "Luna!?"
"This is the famous Luna Genesis?" His father asked excitedly. "This is her!" Aria answered.
His mom and dad gracefully shook my hand and introduced themselves. They were even more beautiful up close. "Arias description does you no justice. You are stunning. Do you model?" His mom asked.
"No mother she does not." Xavier answered for me from his seat. "Well if you're interested get my info from Xavier. I'd love to see you in some of my designs."
There was no way they were genuinely this kind. It had to be some kind of joke. "Who are you here with?" Xavier asked.
"Uh Mason."
The frown that reached his face was clear and apparent. He didn't hide his distaste, not even in front of his family. "Speaking of which I should get back he's probably wondering where I went. It was so nice to meet you all."
I excused myself much to their dismay and basically ran to my table. "Damn you was taking a dump?" Mason asked when I sat down.
"No! I was—I just..."
"Shhh I understand. Sometimes we all have to get it out."
