When Xavier and I finally finished everything he needed to get we both planned to leave. But we're still sat here in his office exchanging stories about our siblings.
"My brothers ridiculous. At his first baseball game he ran the wrong direction after hitting the ball." I shared.
Xavier burst into a fit of laughter at that. "That's something Aria would do. I swear she doesn't have an athletic bone in her body. Luckily for us and the rest of the world she's going into fashion design."
"I dont know what id do if my brother decided to be a doctor. With the way he acts i'd fear for all of his patients."
"I've gotta meet this kid. He sounds like fun."
"He can be, but for the most part he's a mess." I laughed.
I checked the time as our laughter died down and was surprised to see that it was nearly 7pm. "Oh damn how'd it get so late so fast."
"It feels like we've been here for two hours not 7."Xavier gaped. "I know, I've gotta figure out what I'm gonna have for dinner."
"How about we grab something." He offered. "Like what?"
"What do you want?"
"I'll let you decide." I replied. "Well let's get out of here then."
I packed up my stuff and put my jacket back on before following him out of his office. He locked the door and gestured for me to lead the way. "Where'd you park?"
"Down the street that way. Where'd you park?"
"The lot around the corner."
"I can take you to your car." I offered. "I appreciate that."
We walked down the street together in silence and when we made it to my car I started to get nervous. Get it together! His office isn't much different than the confined space of the car.
He gave me the directions to the lot and I pulled up right outside the entrance. "Thank you, I'll text the address of where we're going." He said as he got out of the car.
"Okay see you there!"
He waved and started towards the doors of the lot. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. The day with him had been...great honestly. But it was no good for the crush I'd developed on him. If anything it made it worse. Usually when I had a crush I wanted to avoid them until I got over it but with him, i wanted to be in his presence or speaking to him in some capacity all the time.
He was just so kind and easy going. How could I not want to be around him. I just needed to keep my silly little feelings buried and we would be fine. I highly doubt that he looked at me as anything other than a protege.
My phone buzzed, and like I expected, it was Xavier sending the address. Instead of looking up the restaurant I just put it in the gps and pulled off. We surprisingly made it to the place at around the same time. It looked like a fancy place that required reservations so I knew that the wait would be long. I wonder what made him chose this place.
Luckily I didn't look too much like a broke college student. My chocolate brown sweat pants, matching t shirt, camel teddy coat, and tan uggs looked cute and casual. But because the restaurant didn't give me ugg vibes, I changed my shoes into my white air force ones. It still looked casual but the change in shoes felt like it changed the tone of the outfit.
I took a knee beside my car to fix the tongue of the shoe while looking towards the restaurant. It was only a few feet down the street so not really a far walk. As I stood back up I saw Xavier coming up the street.
