When I got home I kicked my heels off and sighed heavily. Nadia was sat on the couch watching a movie ignoring my existence. Lucas gave my shoulder a squeeze before he showed himself to my room. I took a deep breath and let it out before I approached her.

"Did something happen the night of the party?" I asked. I didn't have time to beat around the bush right now. "What party?"

"What's her names little reunion thing." I clarified.

"No, Luna, nothing happened. Is that all I'm trying to watch tv?"

"So this whole thing...really did come out of nowhere?" I asked. "Oh my goodness will you please. I swear Erin was right you are so nagging. Like you need to be babied through this. I don't want to talk right now."

I furrowed my eyebrows for a second as I tried to process her words. Erin was right? Did I hear correctly.

"I'm sorry did I hear you correctly?"

"What part of what I said was unclear. I don't want to talk to you Luna." She reiterated. "Because Erin was right?"

"Yes as a matter of fact. She was right you are a bore and I do have to drag you around everywhere. Honestly I feel bad for you."

My eyebrows raised and I nodded my head. "Nadia I don't know what possessed you to think you could talk to me like you don't have sense but get it under control. Fast. I don't care who said what. At the end of the day that girl has been around two months I've known you your whole life. I swear to God you do this kind of shit every time you get in a relationship. What was it last time? Oh London thought we were together too much so you stopped talking to me for weeks."

"Don't bring that up that doesn't have anything to do with this."

"Yes it does. You let any and everybody come between us and i'm sick of your shit. You want to be a bitch and think i'll be here when you pull your shit together. I hope you have someone's shoulder to cry on when that girl breaks your fucking heart just like everyone else." I told her calmly.

I didn't wait for her response I simply got up and made my way back towards the door. I needed air.

As I made my way back downstairs I started to replay her words. Erin said this and Erin said that. So what I got was that she'd be speaking badly about me with Erin and Erin was able to convince her that I was somehow the bad guy.

I feared that this would happen when they started talking. She always put her partner above everything and let them manipulate and control her. One guy she was dating convinced her that I was in love with her and she stopped talking to me for a month before they broke up and I had to be her shoulder to cry on. But I wasn't about to deal with this shit again.

I love her like she's my sister but I did my best to be a good friend and I don't deserve this type of shit.

I got back in my car with no destination in mind. I just wanted to drive. I pulled off in direction of the expressway and rode it until I'd passed four exits. I got off at the fifth one I saw and decided to take random turns. I ended up at the gas station a few minutes after I got off the highway.

I sighed heavily as I got out of the car to pump my gas. If it was one thing I couldn't stand it was pumping gas. Unfortunately for me this isn't Jersey so there was no one else to do it.

I pulled out a twenty dollar bill and made my way inside. "Hi, can I get 20 on eight please."

"Eight?" The cashier asked. I nodded my confirmation and took the receipt once he finished.

I got the nozzle in and going and leaned against my car as I watched the numbers go up.

I tried not to stare off into space too much because it was late and I don't know this neighborhood. So I started looking around casually.

When I turned to look at the the side entrance I saw a car that looked slightly familiar turning in. I couldn't really see it well since the headlights were so bright. I turned back around trying to mind my own business. I heard the sound of a loud click letting me know the gas was finished and started to remove the nozzle.

As I closed up the gas cap I heard a car door close. "Luna?"

My head shot up quickly and I locked eyes on the one and only Xavier Nixon. "Hey." I greeted.

A small smile grew on his face as he approached me. I reached into my pocket and quickly used some hand sanitizer as he did so. "I thought that was you. Night out?" He asked as he stopped in front of me.

He took a second, a very long one, to look me up and down. "Kind of. I was celebrating my brothers birthday and the end of the semester. Didn't want to be at home right now so I was kind of just driving around. What about you?"

"I couldn't sleep, so I wanted to go for a short ride." He shrugged.

"Any specific destination in mind?"

"Nah, just taking random turns until I get bored." He chuckled. "You look beautiful by the way. I feel like I should've led with that."

"Oh thank you. My brother actually picked out my outfit." His words cheered me up. His presence cheered me up. "You on your way back in?" He asked.

"No I don't know where Im about to go actually."

"I was thinking of stopping at this spot I like to go to when I just don't wanna be at home. You wanna join me?"

Again we were crossing the line. Falling out of the area of professionalism. But the way he looked at me made me forget about that. So I nodded and said, "Sure, why the hell not."
