Xaviers POV
Last thing I expected to see when I pulled into the gas station was Luna. But there she was beside her car looking like she wanted nothing more than to go home. She took me by surprise but her outfit shocked me even more. I'd never seen her in revealing clothes, except that one night at that lounge.
But she stood with her hair in loose curls, a corset top, and some of the tightest pants I've ever seen her wear. She looked amazing. And even after not seeing her for a couple days the desire I had for her sparked up like never before. If anything time away from her even if it was three days or a week it just reminded of how badly I wanted her in ways that I shouldn't.
I pulled in front of the pump adjacent to her and got out. She hadn't noticed it was me. A distracted look was settled onto her face. "Luna?!" I called out to her.
With the way she looked up, It seemed like I startled her. Her eyes found mine quickly and a smile started to grow on her face. "Hey." She greeted with a shy little wave. She always looked so shy when she spoke to me. I wonder If she's always that way.
As I approached I really got to look at her and I shamelessly looked her up and down. "Night out?" I asked. "Kind of. I was celebrating my brothers birthday and the end of the semester. Didn't want to be at home right now so I was kind of just driving around. What about you?"
"I couldn't sleep, so I wanted to go for a short ride." I shrugged. It was sad honestly. My house was far too quiet and Ive been holed up there alone all week. Not to mention Aria hadn't been around in a while. So I figured taking a drive might be fun.
"Any specific destination in mind?"
"Nah, just taking random turns until I get bored." I chuckled. She let out a soft laugh and I swear my knees buckled. She was so beautiful. "You look beautiful by the way. I feel like I should've led with that." I told her.
"Oh thank you. My brother actually picked out my outfit." Her expression brightened it seemed. "You on your way back in?" I pondered.
"No I don't know where Im about to go actually."
I paused for a second. I didn't want the interaction to end just yet. I wanted to spend whatever time with her i could. It's nearly 10pm, so I didn't think it was much.
"I was thinking of stopping at this spot I like to go to when I just don't wanna be at home. You wanna join me?"
A thoughtful expression crossed her faced for maybe a second before she nodded and said, "Sure, why the hell not."
After I got gas, I led her towards my favorite place to go when I was bored. My dads second office. He was hardly ever here, I probably made more trips here than he did. But since he owned the building he figured he keep up with it and use it when he's in town.
He kept it well decorated with the first floor sort of looking like a library and upstairs is where he had a private office and seating area. "Oh this is nice." Luna mumbled to herself.
"It's my dads other office. He's never here but I usually just stop by here to get out of the house."
I watched her eyes twinkle with wonder as she brushed the tips of her fingers along the spines of the books lining a shelf. She pulled an old text book off of the shelf and read the title before putting it back in its place. "Was it his idea to have the books organized by color or yours?"
"His. I'm no where near as organized as he is." I try to keep the place nice and tidy so I don't mess up anything that he has in place. "Come with me." I said as I made my way to the stairs.
She followed me casually and wrapped her arms around herself. "You cold?" I asked.
"A little. I left my jacket in the car."
"I'll turn the heat on. You want some hot chocolate?" I asked as we made it to the top of the stairs. She nodded gratefully.
When you get upstairs there is like a balcony so you can easily over look the downstairs and beyond that is the seating area. There's a nice velvet couch with a coffee table in front of it. A flat screen tv was hung on the wall with a floating fire place below it.
I turned on the fire place and gestured for her to sit. Before I walked away I gave her one of the sherpa blankets I kept here. Next, I went to the small kitchen in the back to make her hot chocolate.
It didn't take long thankfully and when I got back to her she was walking around with the blanket over her shoulders looking at another small shelf of books. "What kind of Lawyer did you say your dad is again?"
"Corporate."
"He has books on...everything." She giggled. "And im pretty sure he's read at least a little of every single one."
"Seriously? It would take me like 2 months to finish one of these law books."
"He started his collection while he still lived in Spain. Some of these books helped him learn English."
"Oh wow."
"I take it you're not much of a reader?" I asked.
"Kind of. I really only like fiction and an occasional non fiction book."
"What's your favorite genre?" I asked as I handed her the mug. "Romance." She mumbled as if it were embarrassing to say.
She turned from me slightly and took a sip from her mug. "Why do you say it like that?" I chuckled. "I don't know. It always just feels awkward when people ask what I like to read." She smiled.
"I get it."
"Do you like reading?"
"I love it. I'm more of a SyFy kinda guy. I really like comic books too." I shared with her. It was my attempt at keeping her comfortable. She didn't need to feel awkward about her interest in books, not around me.
"Really? What's your favorite comic?"
"Martian Manhunter: Son of Mars. What's your favorite book?"
"That's a hard one...probably The Fault in Our Stars." She replied thoughtfully. "Why?"
A haunted look found its way into her eyes and this strange air of sadness suddenly surrounded her. "It's just so sad but so sweet at the same time. Reminds you that everything you have and the people you love can be gone in an instant. When I first read it, it pushed me into a depression." She laughed.
"I'll have to check it out."
"Please do. It's really good just really sad. There's also a movie if you want to watch that."
"Will you watch it with me?" I asked her. She looked surprised but she answered quickly. "Yeah sure."
"Alright come sit."
"Oh you mean right now?!" She exclaimed.
"If you want." I shrugged. "Okay."
She made her way over to the couch and took a seat while I grabbed the remote and dimmed the lights. I'd do anything to keep her around for a little while longer.
