Two weeks later:
Tonight is the night, finally. Jordan is very nervous, he has packed a bag, and he told her to tell her parents she was staying the night at Cassie's.
So, we are going to go to prom, and then I am going to have the limo take us to the motel. I am a nervous wreck and have been all week.
Tonight, Stephanie and I will finally take that step in our relationship. We have been together for over a year, and the time is now.
I go upstairs and take a shower. I get dressed and look at myself in the mirror over and over to make sure I am okay.
I fix my hair and walk downstairs. Mom is in the kitchen, and when she sees me, she starts crying. "You look so handsome, Jordan. I can't believe you are going to prom tonight. You are growing up too fast, way too fast."
"Thanks, Mom, and to you, it seems fast, but to me, it seems really slow. Ma, don't forget I am staying the night at Brent's, so I won't be home until tomorrow."
"Okay, son, well, you and Stephanie have a great time. I love you, and be safe."
"Love you too, ma." He left and drove his car to the motel. He went to the room and made sure it was nice; he set the box of condoms on the nightstand and put his bag down. He placed the roses he bought on the table.
He had brought his radio from the house so they could listen to music tonight. He plugged it up and then went downstairs to wait for the limo. He was pacing back and forth nervously when the limo arrived.
He climbed in, and then they went to pick Stephanie up. When they arrived at her house, he took a few deep breaths and walked to the door. He knocked and patiently waited for the door to open. Her mom opened the door and smiled at him.
"Jordan, you look very handsome. We would like to get some photos before you two leave."
"Thank you, Mrs. Moon, and of course." He stepped inside and saw Stephanie as she walked down the stairs. His breath hitched, and his mind went completely blank. She was beautiful.
"Wow, so beautiful, I mean, Stephanie, you look so beautiful."
"Thanks, Jordan. I guess that's a good thing I made you speechless. You look handsome as well." They stood there just smiling at each other until her parents told them to stand beside each other for photos.
Her mom and dad snapped a lot of pictures and even some with the limo. I shook their hands and helped her into the limo, we waved as we drove off to prom. When we pulled up, the staff were taking pictures.
We smiled and walked in. We held hands as we walked to the picture area. Hopefully, this picture would hang in our living room after we got married.
We danced and ate dinner. We talked to a few friends, and finally, she whispers in my ear, "Can we, um, go now?"
"Yeah, sure. Let's say our goodbyes, and then we will leave." They said bye and then went outside. He found their limo, and they walked over and got inside.
She was curled into his arms as they were driven to their room. He tipped the driver and thanked him. He helped her out with her bag, and they walked to the room.
"Can you give me like two minutes to get the room ready?"
"Sure, Jordan." He smiled as he opened the door. He lit the candles and laid some rose petals on the bed. He turned the lights down and turned the radio on. He walked back to the door and held his hand out. She placed her hand in his and walked into the room.
