So, Joey slept until the driver woke him up and said they were fifteen minutes from his destination. Joey opened his eyes and made sure everything was ready when he got home. He couldn't wait to see his wife.
He had taken a chance, and thankfully it paid off for him; they were planning to remodel the house because Steph didn't want to move. After talking to his mom, he realized her not wanting to move wasn't about Jordan, but it was about Stephanie herself.
He was a little jealous that Jordan and she picked this home out; they decorated it and made it a home. So, if she wouldn't move completely, maybe we could buy a second home that was ours, maybe a vacation home.
Jordan bought a nice house in a nice neighborhood. It had a nice yard and enough room to expand the property to now fit their family of six.
Joe's heart was racing as they turned on the street; his house was right at the end. Joe grabbed his wallet to tip the driver, and when he stopped out front, he handed him the money and jumped out. Grabbed his bags and bolted for the door.
Joe opened the door expecting to see his beautiful wife pacing the floor, waiting on him to arrive but instead saw his sister, Judy.
"Hey, baby bro, finally made it home."
"Hey, sis, and yes, I did. Um,"
"She's in bed, Joe. She came down, ate some breakfast and went back to bed. Dave took the kids to school, and he will be by to bring them home a little after two."
"Oh, ok. I figured she would be waiting on me when I got home. Great, I can't wait to see them."
"Joe, she is excited, but the last part of the pregnancy, especially with twins, is hard. She sleeps most of the day now. She tried to stay awake, but her eyes kept trying to close, so I sent her to bed."
"Thanks, Judy. I guess I am just afraid of losing her. You can go home and let everyone know I am home," He hugged her and kissed her head and walked upstairs. He opened the door to their room, and there she lay; she had gotten bigger since he had left, but she was still beautiful.
She was lying on her side in his shirt, which made him feel good. He kissed her on the forehead she didn't even move. He went to the bathroom and took a nice long hot shower. He needed to relax. He got out and dried off, and he slipped his boxers on.
He crawled into bed with her and hugged up next to her. This was where he belonged; she was his home. He breathed in her scent; he loved how she always smelled so good; her perfume always lingered for days.
He fell asleep as he held her body, his alarm went off, and he slid out of bed to go see the kids. He threw on a pair of shorts and was making a cup of coffee when they walked in.
"Hey, Joey Joe, good to see you home, man. Where's Steph? She has been so excited to see you, she had a huge smile on her face this morning when I came to pick up the kiddos."
"Daddy, Joey, you're home. We are so happy to see you. Mommy hasn't been feeling well; all she does is sleep," Stefan said sadly.
"Daddy, Joey, look, I made you a welcome home card and one for Daddy and Uncle Jon too. I am so glad you are home; Mommy missed you a lot," Michelle said as she smiled at him.
"I am so happy to see both of you as well, I miss you guys so much, and your mommy. That is beautiful. Thank you, Michelle. They will love it, they will be here tomorrow. Bud, I know mommy has been sleeping a lot; the babies are taking a lot of her energy, but your baby brother and sister will be here very soon."
"She's in bed, she has been asleep since I got here. She is out cold and didn't feel me kiss her head or lay up next to her; even my shower didn't disturb her. She didn't even move when I came down here to see the kids."
