One year later:

Joey stands in the back room, dressed in his suit and nervous. He is sweating so badly that they have a fan on him so he doesn't soak through his clothes.

Jordan walks in and puts his hand on his shoulder. "Hey, man, how are you holding up?"

"I am nervous as hell. I don't even know how this happened. I went to see a house, bought said house, asked her out, and now we are getting married. I told Steph I would never marry again, I would never find someone that made me feel like she did, but I did."

"Calm down, Joe. Steph asked me to give this to you if you ever found that someone." He handed Joe the letter and stepped out into the hall.

Joe sat down and opened the envelope. He unfolded the paper and took a deep breath.
Joseph, my dear sweet Joseph, if you are reading this, then that means you have met someone who makes you feel special. You have decided to take that step and get married. So, congratulations, you deserve to be happy. I hope she treats you well, and I hope she takes care of you. I hope you and her can have the future you and I dreamed of, but that was taken from us when I was diagnosed with cancer.
I wish you both nothing but joy and happiness. I hope you love her, and I hope she loves you. I hope our kids are doing okay, and if any of them has any issues, please let them read this letter.
Joseph, you made me so happy from the moment we realized we were married once we got over the shock until the day I left this earth. Now, treat this woman the same way, and life will be good. Take her to travel the world, you will be taking me with you in your heart and thoughts. Just know I am sending you love and hugs from heaven. Kiss and hug my kids for me and all my grandchildren; not sure how many I have now. Tell them all I love them, and I love you. Jordan was tasked with giving you and your wife to be a letter on your wedding day. Take care, and love always your wife, Stephanie.

Joe sat down and cried; she had thought of everything. She had written letters for everybody when they died. She had written letters to all of the kids when they had a baby; she wrote five each but hoped all wouldn't be needed. She had written letters for each of Griff and Kira's birthdays, for their wedding day, the day they got their license, the day they went off to college, the day they graduated college, and the day I got married. I wonder if she wrote one for Jordan and his wife-to-be or just me?

Meanwhile, Barett was dressed, and she was drinking a glass of champagne. Michelle walked in and handed her a letter.

"Who is this from?"

"This is a letter from my Mom, she gave them to my Daddy, for the day Dad decided to get married. This letter is to his future wife."

"Oh, thank you, sweetie." Barett took a deep breath and sat down. The envelope read to Joseph's future wife. She opened the letter and started reading it.

To the future Mrs. McIntyre, my name is Stephanie, and I was Joseph's first wife. I am glad that he has found someone to love again, and I hope you treat him right. Joseph and I were married for over sixteen years. I can't tell you the exact date I passed, so I don't know if I made it to our seventeenth anniversary or not.
He is a good man, and we were married for many years. We never had a fight, only small disagreements. So, please understand how he is. He does not like conflict, he will do anything in the world for you if you just ask him. Please don't take advantage of him, because if he has asked you to marry him and it's your wedding day, you must be pretty special.
As I'm sure you have heard, he helped raise my two oldest kids, and they are his; please try to keep it that way. Our two youngest kids take care of them as well.
Please don't ever stand in the way of his career, I forced him to tour with the band and do his solo shows when I was first diagnosed and fighting for my life. The doctor gave us the news last week that I would be lucky to make it to the New Year; let's hope I did. Tour with him, sing with him, dance with him, and make him happy. I wish you both the best. Sincerely, Stephanie McIntyre.

Barett picked up her phone and dialed Joe's number. He answered, "Hey."

"Hey, I, um, was given a letter from your late wife. She was a great woman, I heard you got one also. How are you doing after reading it?"

"Yes, Steph was the best, and I am doing okay. Just a little shocked after getting it. I thought I knew all the letters she had written but this one I wasn't prepared for. How are you feeling after reading her words?"

"I feel fine, she asked me to ensure you continued working and to not stand in your way. To sing with you and dance with you. So, you guys were married seventeen years and never had an argument?"

"Not one, we had disagreements like dinner or when she was pregnant, telling her to relax and let me do stuff, but nope, we never argued. I don't like conflict and would prefer to just walk away than argue. So, Barett, are we still good?"

"Yes, we are great. Are we still going to get married?"

"I'm here, you're here, we are both dressed, our families are here. Plus, I love you, so it's a yes from me."

"Great, it's a yes from me."

"Alright, I will see you soon when you walk down that aisle. Bye, dear."

"I will be the one in white; Bye, Joe."

Within an hour, they were married and dancing on the dance floor. Jordan smiled as he wished he could find someone to make him happy like Joe had. Barett was great for him; she was funny, and he was happy.

Jordan still visited Stephanie every day. He hadn't even looked at another woman. Stephanie was the only woman for him, and he figured that's the way it would always be. He was happy watching their kids have their own families and watching his grandchildren.

He smiled as he looked at his four kids dance. Michelle and Lukas made a beautiful family; they had three kids now, and Stefan and Lizzy had two. Eric and Dante were dancing with the kids, with Griff and Kira.

He looked up as he held the rings on his necklace and smiled, "See our family, Steph; they are your legacy. Through them, you will always live. I miss you and love you, always and forever. He blew a kiss to the sky.
