February 2005:
Stephanie went out with Brianna and Cassie for the night while Jordan stayed home with the kids. They have been seeing a marriage counselor, but things are still shaky in their marriage.
She doesn't feel like he understands how much work goes into raising their kids, and he doesn't feel like she cares about how much work goes into recording, calendar events, and tours.
She loves him, and he loves her, but right now, things are rough. So, Bri called her and could tell she was upset, so she and Cassie decided to come to Boston and go out for the night.
Jordan raised hell about her going out and partying it up with her school friends. She needs to grow up and stop trying to live in her high school days. She is a wife and a mother, not a teenager.
Needless to say, he has stayed in the guest room for the last few nights. Stephanie got all dressed up and came downstairs while Jordan was sitting there holding their son and their daughter sitting cuddled into his arm.
"That's what you are wearing to go out with your girlfriends?"
"Um, yea, it is. Everything is covered, and I think it looks good."
"Barely, and yea, if you are trying to get laid, but you don't need to dress like that to go out, you have a husband. You don't need help getting laid, you have a willing partner. We can even put the kids to bed and go get lost under the sheets right now."
"Jordan, I'm not dressed like this to try and pick up guys. I feel good about myself right now. I am completely covered up; it's tight but not revealing. I have to cover these damn things up since having two children and breastfeeding. That's just your way to get me to stay home. Sometimes I need the freedom to just let loose and have fun. I may have a willing partner, but that's about the only place we don't fight is in the bedroom. Besides, you have been in the guest room for three nights, and you think you can just climb back into my bed and get lucky."
"Yes, because you told me to go into the spare room after the argument we had the other night, and you have not invited me back into our room."
"We'll see about that. Alright, my cab should be here any minute. I am planning on getting drunk, so I am taking a cab to be safe. I love you, Jordan, I love you too, Mommy's baby boy, and I love you, sweetheart, be good for Daddy. You guys have fun, Mommy will be back in a little bit." Jordan leaned in and kissed her just as a horn blew outside.
"Be careful. Are you sure you don't want to stay home with me instead?"
"Jordan, they made the trip from New York to Boston to spend time with me, and I can't just bail on them. I will be back later, have fun spending time with our babies."
He grabbed her wrist as she started to walk away, and he kissed her passionately. "I love you, Steph."
"I love you, Jordan," She smiled at him as she walked out the door.
It's been a while since he made her feel like that. She climbed into the taxi and told the driver the address downtown.
She, Cassie, and Brianna spent the next few hours dancing and laughing. They were having a blast. Several guys had tried to hit on Steph, and she politely turned them down, showing them her ring.
Jon was out for a drink, and he saw someone who looked like her sister-in-law dancing around. He saw her keep turning guys down and knew Jordan would be very proud. He walked over and lightly touched her back, leaned in, and kissed her cheek.
"Excuse me, what right do... Jon, it's so great to see you. I thought you were some jerk kissing me. Better watch out your brother will think we got a thing going on even tho I'm not your type."
