Two weeks later:
Jordan had the kids this weekend, and Joey was taking me to his parents to meet his family. I was nervous; he, like Jordan, came from a big family. Marlene and Allan only had six kids, and Joey's parents had nine kids Joey also being the baby like Jordan.
Joey's siblings are Judy, Alice, Susan, Patricia, Carol, her husband, Joe, Jean, her husband, Stephen, Kate, and her husband, Greg, and finally Thomas, and his wife, Stacey.
I was going to be very lucky to remember everyone's name. Maybe over time, I would learn who everyone was.
Things are going great with Joey, the kids are starting to interact with him more, which always makes him smile.
I went over last week to visit Marlene and Allan; they were both very kind about the whole situation. They wished us luck. I ran into Sharon and Allison at the mall; they drug me to the food court. Bought lunch and made me spill the beans on the whole situation.
They both agreed that I was doing nothing wrong by trying to make the accidental marriage to Joe work. They both hugged me and wished me well. Chris came by the house about a week after we got married and told me to stay strong, and he was happy for me.
Joey and I are learning things about each other. We play this game he came up with of random questions. We have thirty seconds to write down as many questions as we can, then we read them one by one until they have all been answered.
I learned a lot from that game about Joey; we are just slowly learning things we like and don't like. Like most people do when they date, except we did it in reverse, we got married, and now we are dating.
So, we are dressed and getting ready to head to his parent's house, Tom and Kathy. He wraps his arms around me.
"Babe, you have no reason to be nervous. They are excited to meet my wife."
"Yeah, well, most of the time, couples meet the family before they are married, and they also aren't the ex-wife of one of their bandmates and the mother of his children."
"Steph, they know everything, and I do mean everything. They know you were married to Jordan, and they know you have been divorced for a year, I have shown them pictures of Stefan and Michelle, and they are excited to meet you, especially after I told them that I was in love with you."
"So, I'm not going to be walking into a lion's den of McIntyre's that hate me and think I am a gold digger."
"No, baby, they really are excited to meet you and to get to know you. Alright, are you ready?"
"I guess as ready as I'll ever be?" He smiled and grabbed her hand, and they left.
When they arrived at his parent's home in Jamaica Plains, he opened her door for her, wrapped his arm around her waist and kissed her cheek. She smiled at him and looked deep into his eyes for a minute.
They had no idea that his mom, Judy, Jean, Kate, Carol, and Kathy were looking out the window as they watched how they interacted with each other. He turned her around to face him, and he caressed her cheek; he leaned in and kissed her. She laid her head on his shoulder, and they just stayed like that for a minute.
When they finally made their way to the door, he opened the door and pulled her in. He wrapped his arm around her again after they both were in the door.
"Mom, I'm here."
"Joseph, dear, so glad you finally made it." She walked in and hugged him.
"Mom, I would like you to meet my wife, Stephanie. Baby, this is my mom, Kathy."
