Chapter 42: Unexpected news

Two weeks later:

Joey and Jordan had been gone for two weeks and three days. The kid's talked to Jordan every night on the phone, and Joey called about five or six times every day.

She missed him so much, her bed felt so empty. She missed cuddling up with him on the couch and in bed. 

He called her before sound check, and they were sitting there talking, "I miss you so much, baby. I don't know if I can do this shit anymore. It was fine when I was single, but now I have a wife, two kids, and another on the way."

"I know, baby, I miss you too. The house feels so empty without you here. I miss cuddling up on the couch with you, and our bed feels so empty. I wished more than anything that you were here with me, but you can't quit you agreed to the reunion before we got together. You can't let the other guys down."

"I know, but damn, I miss you. I would give anything just to kiss those sexy lips right now. To feel you in my arms when you get here, I am never letting you go. Hell, I will probably drag you onstage with me."

"Oh, trust me, I know that feeling all too well. I can't wait to feel your lips against mine and your arms around me. That is never going to happen, I am more the background kind of girl."

"A background girl that was married to Jordan Knight, and now you are married to me, Joey Mac, and we are two of the biggest heartthrobs of the group. Our fans are so jealous of you and the fact you have had two of us. Girl, eat that shit up and enjoy it."

"Hell, I'm jealous of Jordan is fucking hot."

"Yes, he is, but you are hotter to me, and damn those baby blues when you look at me, I get instantly wet."

"Oh, I know you do, and that in itself is so hot, such a turn-on. Eight weeks and one day until I get to hug you and kiss you."

"Trust me, I know I am marking the days off on a calendar like a teenager counting down the days until school is out." They both laughed.  

"Yea, I remember those days. I am glad we aren't teenagers anymore because now you are my wife; back then, you were all about J, totally head over heels in love with him, and now you look at me like you did him, and I love that you only have eyes for me."

"How have things been with you and Jordan on tour? Me too, Joey. I wished I would have noticed you back then other than just as the kid of the group, but I am glad we got together when we did. If I had never married Jordan, he would have always been a what if, but instead, I was married to him for almost six years, we lived together for almost two, we dated for over five before I left him, and we had two children, and that is when I realized that I wasn't a priority to him, but to you we are."

"Things are decent. I mean, we are getting along; he hasn't been an asshole to me, so that's a plus. He didn't learn from his mistakes with you because he only calls Evie one time, and that's after the show; he will talk to her for a few minutes, and that's it. He is on his phone the rest of the time." 

"I really wished he would treat her better, I say she's crazy for staying with him knowing he's still in love with you. It doesn't even bother me anymore because I know that no matter what, we are together, and I trust you as you trust me. You know you are the only girl for me, and you already know pictures can be taken way out of context, so you know we always discuss any articles."

"I know I have nothing to worry about, Joe; you are it for me, and I know that if Jon were to catch you doing something wrong, he would be the first to tell me, and you know that as well." Just then, her doorbell rang. 

"Is someone there? Was that the doorbell?"

"Yea, hang on, let me see who it is." She walked to the door, and there stood Evie; she looked upset. "Hey, Evie, are you okay?"
