Chapter 45: Showtime

Tonight is the first show since we joined him at the venue. They had the day off to rest yesterday, and we made up for lost time. We have only left the bedroom a few times, mainly to shower and eat. 

We went to see the kids for a few, and it seemed like Evie and Jordan were in a disagreement. Jordan asked if we could take the kids for a walk which we happily did. 

Now, today is back to work. We made love when we first woke up and then showered. Now, time for soundcheck. Steph wants to sit in the audience, but I need to make sure she and the kids will be alright. 

We had a little disagreement, but finally, with Jared and a couple of security guards, we made a compromise. She will be sitting in the front row, and the kids will wear headphones to protect their hearing. Evie is going to sit with her.

She doesn't know it, but I have a very special surprise toward the end of the show tonight. She smiles at me as she sits there. 

I walk over to her and sit down beside her; I lay down and lay my head on her lap, facing her stomach. I rub her stomach gently, and I kiss her stomach.

"Hey there, little ones, it's Daddy. You two behave in there for Mommy, okay? You are very lucky little ones, because your Mommy is a great person who will always put your needs first. I know it's going to get a little loud tonight, and Daddy apologizes. Mommy may be shaking her booty, so you two might be bounced around a little. Just let Mommy have fun tonight. I love you both very much."

Stephanie was rubbing her hands through his hair. "That was so sweet, Joey; you are going to be a great father. I can't wait to see you hold your babies for the first time." He wrapped his hand around her neck and pulled her down as he leaned up, and he kissed her.

"I can't wait to meet them and see their beautiful Mommy hold them. I know you have already done this twice before with Jordan, but this is our first and your first set of twins. Are you and the kids going to come to watch Soundcheck?"

"Yea, we are that way; they can kind of see how loud it will be and know if they want to come out or not."

"Alright, well, my lovely wife, it's time to go get your firsthand look at behind-the-scenes of the group." He sat up and held his hand out. She took his hand and stood up; they walked through the hall to the stage, and she took a seat. Both kids came through a couple of minutes later with Evie and Jordan. They both ran over to me and sat down.

"Hey, babies, do you have your headphones?"

"Yes, Mom."

"Of course, Dad wouldn't let us leave without them."

"Okay, well, it's going to get really loud, so I need you to put them on, please and thank you. Now, remember it will be this loud, plus all the screaming fans."  

"Yes, ma'am they both replied as they slid them on their heads." 

Jared walked out and sat beside Steph. "Girl, you got these mother skills down. Your two children are the best-behaved children I have ever seen, and they are so polite."

"Jordan and I taught them manners and how to act in public. If they want something and we don't give it to them, they know to use their words to express their feelings without temper tantrums. We don't yell or scream at them, and no one is to argue or fight around them." 

"I need to let you teach that to my rowdy ones. You and Jordan may not have worked out your relationship, but as parents, you two are rock stars. I know there was a little friction at the beginning of the tour between Joey and Jordan, but all that has gone away, and when they are up there, it's as if they are brothers and best friends."
