Chapter 31: Time to talk to our kids

Later that night, Steph and Joe were relaxing on the couch. Steph had her pajamas on, and Joe was wearing a pair of shorts, no shirt, and they were cuddled up on the couch when someone rang her doorbell.

Steph looked at Joe like who is that. She stood up and started walking to the door, but Joey stood up and told her to hang on; he walked to the door and looked out. 

"It's Jon and Dave," he opened the door, and they both looked at him standing there. 

"Joseph, where's Stephanie?" He stepped in and saw her standing there. He walked over and hugged her.

"Hey, Dave."

"Joey, Joe, what's up?" Jon said as he stepped in and walked over, and hugged Stephanie. 

"So, what the hell is up with finding out that you two got married, and nobody even knew you were talking?" Dave asked. 

"Look, we will tell you the same thing we told him. We didn't even talk until Sunday night, right after you two left. He called and brought me cheesecake and coffee. We hung out and caught up. Joe asked me if I wanted to go to New York for a few days just to hang out as friends. The kids weren't here; it was Valentine's Day, so I said yes."

"We went to the City, and we had fun; we went to dinner and went to a few clubs. Then on Valentine's Day, she met up with her friends that live in the City and their husbands; we all went to dinner then they all went their own ways. We went to the Pyramid Club; we were laughing, dancing, and having a good time when the server brought over a couple of drinks and said they were from this couple and pointed to them. We weren't sure if they knew me or maybe they were like us, just friends out and liked us. We smiled and waved. We don't even remember finishing the drink."

"We really don't, we think they drugged us. The next thing we knew, we woke up and felt bad; we had headaches, and it was just horrible. I looked down and saw the wedding ring, I asked Joe to look at his hand, and he was also wearing a ring. We were confused, still under the influence; we were naked and had marks all over our bodies. We had figured out that we got married. At this point, we didn't even know where we were. We knew we had to sleep whatever we were under off, so we fell back asleep."

"Later, we woke up feeling better, we weren't sure what had happened, where we were, how we got there, no memories past halfway through the drinks the couple gave us. I didn't even know if they had robbed us, if we slept with them or each other, we didn't know anything. We got up and started looking for our wallets; they were both there, thankfully, and then I found the marriage certificate, and I found the airplane tickets. We were kinda freaking out, and we talked."

"Joe told me the two options we had either one, we could get an annulment, or two, we could stay married and see what happens between us. He told me that he really liked me, and he told me all the dates that are planned for his solo tour and when the New Kids reunite. He told me that if I gave him a chance, he had to finish what was already scheduled, but if I really didn't want him to, he would cancel everything except his dates with Dancing with the Stars because he couldn't cancel them. He even asked me to join him on some of his dates; he has five shows, and that will be one of Jordan's weeks because you can't record if he's gone. So, we decided to stay married and date."

"So, someone drugged you, flew you to Niagra Falls, you two got married, and don't remember any of it, but you have decided to stay married and date? Did they fly with you, or how did you end up at a wedding chapel?"

"Pretty much. We don't have a clue, we don't even know how or where we got wedding bands. We did learn they were there when we got married, so they flew with us after the wedding, and we never saw them again. We showered, ate, and then went to the wedding chapel, and she gave us the video of our wedding. You can tell we were on something we just don't know what." Joey said as he laid his hand on her knee.
