Chapter 19: Back together

So, after eight long years, Jordan and Stephanie have reconciled, and they are now back together. Everyone knew the love these two had for each other, and all they needed was to see each other, and they couldn't resist.

Jordan's tour ends in three days; these past six weeks have flown by. Jordan has called Stephanie every morning, every afternoon before the show, and every night after the show. 

Stephanie has continued working, but she took a few days off and flew to meet Jordan; she joined him for three shows and then took a flight back to New York.

(Flashback)

She would sit on the bus and look out the window for hours. Jordan would sit there and watch her. He loved nothing more than just watching her as she watched the world go by. 

"So, this is your life city to city, state to state, country to country. I get the appeal; it has been nice to just see the country from a window. The shows are amazing, and the energy is really cool."

"Well, baby, anytime you want, you are welcome to join me on this bus, plane, train, or boat to travel the world with me. This has been really great having you with me this week. I am going to miss the hell out of you when you leave tomorrow, but three more weeks and I am done. I will be yours."

"I would love to travel the world with you, Jordan, but I have a job; I have a career. It's a really good career, nothing compared to yours, but it's good for me. You know I love numbers, and I make good money."

"I know that Stephanie, and trust me, I support your career. I'm really proud of what you have accomplished with your life. I wanted to ask you if you will look at my finances when I get home. I had a financial advisor, but things aren't adding up, from the money I should have made with the New Kids to the money I have."

"Yea, I would love to review your finances and everything. Bring everything to my house, and I will work on them. I'm sure it will take a few days to go over everything. I mean, we are talking about ten years of finances."

"Would you go to Boston with me to get them? I told Mom about us being back together, and she was happy that we finally reconnected."

"I'm sure your family hates me. You told me your mother came over the night you returned and discovered I was gone. You said your siblings took turns staying with you. I am sure they all hate me for hurting you."

"Stephanie, they don't hate you, they understood where you were at, and they all agreed with Mom that when you tried to discuss the job, I was a jerk by saying I would take care of you like you didn't matter. Like you just wasted your time on getting a degree because I just wanted you to stay home and not work. They were right, I did act like that, but that's not the way I meant it at all. I just wanted you to know that I was going to provide for us."

"I know that, Jordan. I know I should have talked to you about how you made me feel. I know I shouldn't have run away as I did. So, many times I wanted to run back, but I had hurt you, and I couldn't do that. I was thinking about coming back, and then I heard the New Kids were struggling, and rumors were flying that you were breaking up. I couldn't come back then because I didn't want you to feel that now your dream had ended here, I was ready to start back over."

Jordan stood up and walked over to Stephanie, he kneeled down in front of her. "I would have never thought that. I had said in the message I left with your father that whenever you were ready to talk, call me, come to the house, anything, I would be there. I know you needed to grow up without me and the New Kids' fame. I know we needed the space, altho eight years is a lot of space. I know that you didn't hurt me purposefully. You needed to do this for yourself, and I understood that. I wished you would have trusted me enough to talk to me and know that if you told me, I would have made it right. If you had given me an ultimatum, I would have chosen you, it's always been you."
