Joey freaked out when he saw pictures of the car; she was lucky to be alive. The cops and attorney had taken statements from him, Dave, Sharon, and Marlene.

The car was totaled, and he didn't even care about that. It had been three weeks since her accident. He had talked to Michelle and Stefan every night.

The swelling in her brain had finally stopped and started going down. The neurologist had been doing brain scans and tests every day. He had replaced the part of her skull they removed and closed up the incision. He said she had brain activity which was a good thing. The orthopedic surgeon had put the plate and screws in her leg. Her neck fracture was healing well, as were her broken ribs.

Joey had stayed in the Trauma ICU with her every night. They had brought him a reclining chair, and that is where he slept. Her room had a shower so that he could clean up in there. Their family would bring him food, and Jordan visited every single day.

Everyone took shifts staying at the hospital in the waiting room; security in the waiting room was tight. To come down the hall, people had to show badges that they were there to visit someone, all phones had to be turned off, no cameras or pictures were allowed, and no phones were allowed into the unit.

No matter what, Joe had to protect her. Things were all over the internet about them canceling the last shows. No one knew why; Jared released a statement to the fans it read; We, the New Kids on the Block, apologize to our fans for having to cancel our last few shows. There was an emergency with a member's family, and we had to fly straight to the States. We will make up for the shows we canceled. Once the family member is better, then we will reschedule the shows. Thank you for supporting us, and please lift those prayers for our band and our family. We love you!!

Fans had been commenting and posting prayers and sending love since the statement was released. Joey would do whatever was necessary to make sure his wife's privacy was protected.

He had sat in this room for three weeks, they had approved two visitors at a time without including Joe because they knew he refused to leave her side. He face-timed his kids every night.

Joe and Jordan, along with each of their parents and her parents, were going to be allowed in the room when they allowed her to wake up. The doctors would be in here very shortly to remove the sedation meds to see when she woke up.

The nurse had brought chairs in for all the family members allowed in the room and the doctors. All of the swelling in her face had gone down, and her stitches had been removed. Now, she just had small scars that remained and a few bruises.

Now, since the outside was starting to heal, they just had to see how her inside was doing with her brain. Joey had prayed nonstop that when she woke up, she would be his wife. No matter what, he didn't care, even if she couldn't talk or walk. He would take care of her for the rest of his life if he had to.

Jordan, Marlene, and Allan walked in and hugged Joe. They sat down behind Jordan, who sat beside him. There was a spot on the other side of him for his parents and a place on the other side of her bed for Sue and Cliff.

Katherine, Tom, Sue, and Cliff walked in. They all hugged him and sat down. He never moved; he held her hand as if his life depended on her touch. Everyone was talking, and then the doctors stepped in with a few nurses.

The nurse walked over and pushed some buttons on her IV, "Mr. McIntyre, make sure you are prepared for what happens when she wakes up. She should wake up in about five to ten minutes. If she doesn't start responding to touch or open her eyes after thirty minutes, we will do a brain scan."

"Thank you, but she is going to wake up. I know she is. I trust in my god and believe she will know us."

"I applaud you; you have stayed right here; you have never doubted her strength. She is a very lucky woman to have such a caring husband and family to support her. That may be what saves her, knowing she was loved. When a person has something to come back to, it makes a difference than someone who has no family and no reason to live."
