Chapter 47: Baby Shower for the Twins

Joey was really concerned about Steph; he even went over and talked to Jordan. He pulled up at Jordan's and took a deep breath. He climbed out and rang the doorbell.

Jordan answered the door wearing a tank top and shorts. "Hey, Joey, everything okay? I wasn't expecting you."

"Look, J, I need to talk to you."

"Yea, sure, come on in. Um, let's go down to the rec room that way; it's just us." He walked downstairs behind Jordan. Jordan flipped the lights on and grabbed them each a water from the fridge. 

"Okay, what's up? You look like you haven't been sleeping, and you have the weight of the world on your shoulders. Issues at home?" 

"No, nothing like that. I haven't been sleeping well. I am really concerned about Steph; all she does is lay around; she is so uncomfortable and huge but beautiful. I am just worried about her; she hasn't been able to sleep, so that's why I haven't been able to sleep. Was she like this with Michelle and Stefan?"

"Yes, she was toward the last few months; she was so miserable; she was big but not as big as she is this time; she would clean and arrange the nursery, then rearrange it. She washed and folded their clothes, and nothing was perfect then, finally, for the last three weeks or so, she was just happy and peaceful. She was very horny and just at ease."

"Okay, that's not the issue; she is always horny, and I am so afraid of hurting her or the babies. I am just worried about her because she is so exhausted and so uncomfortable. How is Evie?"

"Snappy, she has a major attitude. It's like she has been on her period for the last month. She is way worse than Steph; she wasn't ever mean, not even when she went into labor. I dread when Evie goes into labor, she is going to hate me. Steph was a more emotional person in labor; even when she was pushing, she kept telling me how much she loved me, and all I did was apologize because she was going through the pain; she would smile and tell me it was worth it." He smiled at the memory of Steph delivering their two kids.

"I'm sorry for coming over here. I just didn't know who else to ask, you were there with her when Michelle and Stefan were born, so you were the only one I knew to ask or talk to about my concerns; Mom just said it's normal."

"Hey, it's okay, man. I think we are at a good place in our friendship where we can now talk like this, and it not be awkward. I will tell you that the most amazing thing you will ever experience is when you first see her after your babies are born and when she holds them. That moment when I first saw her hold both of my children was the best moment of my entire life."

"Really? I think so, too, as far as us to the point of this not being awkward. I can't wait for that day to finally happen. Just so she won't be so miserable, I mean, we were planning on this pregnancy, so the only that shocked us was it being twins. I kind of wished I would have told Jared no to traveling overseas so close to her due date. I will never forgive myself if I miss them being born."

"Yea, I didn't even talk to Evie. I just told her we had seven shows in three weeks, and then I would be back. She was so mad at me, but she can't fly, and I really just need a break. Besides, three weeks is nothing." 

"I'm flying out two days prior to the concert and then flying back right after the last show. I already have my flight. I will be back fifteen hours after the Show ends. Just glad all the shows are in Australia. Are you and Evie coming to the baby shower tomorrow?"

"Of course, we will be there. We got you two a ton of gifts for each of the babies. How are you handling the twin's thing?"

"Okay, scared. I mean, I was nervous about one baby but two at the same time. Jared just better knows if he scheduled anything in between. I am not doing it unless it's right here in Boston. I am not leaving her at all after she has those babies until our tour next summer."
