Christmas is next week, and our house is very hectic. We have a lot of places to go and a lot of people to visit in the next few days.
One thing Jordan and I agreed on was Christmas Day was spent together. I had asked Jordan if he was still okay with our agreement after Joey and I got married, and he said yes. It would be done the same way it was before.
So, Jordan and Evelyn finally moved in together last month, he brought her over for a special visit to introduce her to Michelle and Stefan.
They weren't so shocked; they knew he had a girlfriend. They actually seemed to be pretty happy about it. Stefan got right in there talking to her about what fun things they would do when he went to his Dad's house. He told her about how Joey gets in there and plays with them, watches movies with them, and how much fun they have with Joey."
Michelle just told her she was very pretty and asked her if she knew how to braid hair or put it in a ponytail because her daddy didn't. When Evelyn told her yes, she said can you teach Daddy, and can you do my hair when I come over to the house.
We all busted out laughing at Jordan's facial expression when she was asking that. He said Michelle, I do your hair the best I can. She responded, with Dad, you brush it. I'm a girl, and I want my hair to look pretty, like when Mommy does it.
So, Evelyn and Jordan will be spending Christmas Eve night at our house. So, when the kids wake up, they can open their presents from all of us and Santa.
We are going to Joey's parents' the day before Christmas Eve and Jordan's family on Christmas Eve. My parents are flying in and will spend Christmas Day with us. Mom and Dad weren't happy when I informed them that Jordan and his girlfriend would be here as well.
Thankfully, Joey's family, with all the other kids married, had already been doing their celebration the day before Christmas Eve, then anyone that's around, like his sisters that aren't married, will spend Christmas Eve at the McIntyres, and some will even spend Christmas Day.
Thankfully, Joey and Evelyn don't have kids from another relationship because this blending of Jordan and my family with Joey and Evelyn has been hard enough to make sure we spend time with everyone.
I have been baking cookies and cakes for each house. We will be cooking Christmas dinner here on Christmas day. Evelyn and I are doing the side dishes and desserts, Jordan is doing the ham, and Joey is cooking the turkey.
The day before Christmas Eve, we pull up at Tom, and Kathy's house, and Stefan and Michelle are so excited to see everyone. We figured we would get the kids inside first, then come back to take the ton of gifts in our trunk.
We walked in with the kids, and Kathy was coming down the stairs, "there's my baby and his beauty of a wife. Hey, there. I am so glad to see you guys. Where are the youngins?"
"Hey, Ma, they ran off to the other kids the minute we entered the door."
"Hey, Miss Kathy, you look beautiful today."
"Thank you, dear, and it's Ma, Steph; we have been over this. You are a part of our family now, I am so excited for the wedding so we can all witness you two profess your love to each other. You have been really good for my baby, Steph. I am so thankful for you."
"Yes, ma'am, Ma, I love your whole family. You all have been so welcoming to my kids and me, even with the circumstances that brought Joey and me together, and I am so thankful for that. I can't either so excited that it is less than two months away. He has been really good for me and to me. I am thankful to you and Tom for bringing him into this world to love me as only he can."
