The two boys continue punching each other and throwing each other around. Neteyam watches, unsure of what to do. Protect his brother, or protect the true victim of the situation.
Kiri- Neteyam, do something!
His sister pulls him out of his thoughts and he quickly jumps up, having just made his decision.
Lo'ak has Aonung pinned down onto a rock, but just as he pulls his arm back to punch the marine boy, Neteyam shoves his brother off of him with full force.
He stands tall in front of Aonung, facing his brother.
The others are in awed by the action. Lo'ak looks at his big brother with disbelief, while Aonung stands up, catching his breath.
Lo'ak- What're you doing? Defending this jerk?
Neteyam- You were being an ass.
Lo'ak- So you're taking his side? After the way he treated us?
Neteyam- Yes.
A hand is placed on Neteyam's shoulder, and as he turns around, he's met with a punch so hard it knocks him to the ground. He leans up, wiping the blood on his lip, and looks up at Aonung in shock.
Aonung- Don't defend me.
With that, the marine boy storms off, back into the forest leading down the cliff. Lo'ak looks at his brother pulling himself off the ground.
Lo'ak- And you sided with him.
Neteyam ignores Lo'ak and they both walk back over to the others. Tsireya shakes her head, angered. She lets go of Tuktirey and stands, earning everyone's attention.
Tsireya- I am disappointed in you, Lo'ak. You promised me you would give him a chance.
Lo'ak holds his head down, finally feeling a pang of guilt.
Tsireya- You too, Kiri. How could you encourage the teasing, knowing exactly how it feels.
Kiri looks off to the side, trying to pretend she doesn't care.
Tsireya- And Rotxo.
She says his name with a hiss, and he immediately feels his guilt growing.
Tsireya- Aonung is your best friend. How could you let them do that to him?
Her voice sounds more hurt than angry, which makes Rotxo feel even worse.
Tsireya- Do you not care for him anymore? After all you have been through together?
Rotxo feels his heart drop at the mention of a certain event from their past. He can feel a mixture of emotions beginning to surface, but he doesn't want them to show on his face. He quickly stands and leaves the group.
Tsireya sighs, so overwhelmingly angry it causes tears to fall upon her face. Tuktirey grabs her hand.
Lo'ak- I'm so sorry, Tsireya.
Tsireya- Just fix this, please. I hate helplessly watching you guys fight with my brother.
Lo'ak and Kiri exchange looks, both knowing they were wrong.
Kiri- Don't worry, we will fix this.
Lo'ak- I'll go find Aonung.
Neteyam- No.
They each look at Neteyam, who finally decided to speak.
Neteyam- Go find Rotxo, I'll talk to Aonung.
Lo'ak nods, and both boys leave the cliff, and head back down to the beach.
