Mune Olo'eyktan [Neteyam x Aonung]

Part 160

In the village, Neteyam walks into his family's den, seeing Tuktirey sitting with little Wari. The baby boy is playing with toys, while Tuktirey is working on beading something.

In the back, Ronal and his mother are conversing.

Tuktirey- Hi, Neteyam! I'm making something for you.

She stands and runs up to him with a purple and white arm band that isn't complete.

Neteyam- It already looks so pretty, I can't wait to wear it.

Tuktirey- Do you want a necklace to match?

Neteyam- Only if you feel like making it.

Tuktirey- Of course I do!

She runs back over to her spot next to Wari, while he goes to grab one of the fruits set out to eat.

Neteyam- Actually, the one you made for Aonung was really cute. Can I get something to match that?

Tuktirey- I haven't made anything for Aonung yet. Siblings first, Tey.

Before biting into his fruit, he turns to her with confusion on his face.

Neteyam- But, he had a new blue and green one, and said you gave it to him.

Tuktirey- Blue and green . . . Oh! That's the one Kiri made.

Neteyam- Kiri made it for him? Then why did he say it was from you?

The small girl shrugs, then continues her important work, leaving Neteyam in confusion on his own.

Not only is he confused about why Aonung thinks it was from Tuktirey, but he's also confused about when Kiri stopped borderline hating Aonung.

As if on cue, his other sister walks into the den, carrying a basket of fish, with Spider trailing behind her.

She greets him, normally, as she pours the fish into the bowl to be prepared to eat.

Spider goes to greet Wari, holding him in his arms, then notices the confusion on Neteyam's face.

Spider- What's up, Tey?

The question pulls Kiri's attention away from her task at hand.

Neteyam- Kiri, you gave Aonung an armband, right?

Kiri- Y-Yeah, uh, he helped me with something and it was a thanks.

Neteyam- And you told him it was from Tuk, why?

Kiri- Well-

Spider- Probably got nervous about being nice to him after she's disliked him for so long.

Spider earns a punch in the arm.

Spider- Ow! See? She's a meanie.

Neteyam- (laughs) Don't be afraid to get along with him, Kiri.

Kiri- Right. I won't, then. You're doing some kind of workout with your friend this evening right?

Neteyam- Yeah, did you want to do something with me instead?

Kiri- No, I'm just going on a little walk, I'll take Tsireya.

Neteyam- You sure?

Kiri- Yeah.

Out on the beach, Tsireya has been looking for Lo'ak. After her session with Spider, which included catching fish, she let him go for a break.

She's been trying to talk sense into Lo'ak, and hates seeing him with someone else when he's supposed to be with Rotxo. Sure the smaller boy isn't speaking to anyone but Neteyam, but that doesn't mean he deserves something like this.

Knowing that there's a spot near the trees he likes to hang with his friends, she decides to head there. Once arriving, she sees Talon, Shore, and Coona, who halt their serious discussion.

Tsireya- Have you guys seen Lo'ak?

They each share a look, one that makes Tsireya feel uneasy.

Tsireya- What's with the looks?

Coona- . . . Lo'ak is a friend, and all, but we're pretty sure he's in the forest cheating on his mate.

Tsireya- What?

Coona- I tried to keep Fayne away from him, I really did, but those two were already acting like they're in a relationship.

Shore- He's a damn fool, and they've been in there for a while. It doesn't take a genius to guess what they're doing.

Talon takes a deep breath, but doesn't say a word to voice the anger he feels. He's fond of Rotxo, and the thought of the boy's mate not doing him right makes him want to hurt someone. Luckily, his friends have kept him from doing just that.

Tsireya- Okay, enough is enough. I'm not about to let things go on like this.

Tsireya storms boldly into the forest, completely unsure of where the two are, but she continues to look anyway. For a moment she thinks herself unwise for going on a search by herself, until she hears the sounds of shouting.

The voice is far too bassfull to be Lo'ak, and as she gets closer and closer to it, she identifies the voice as her brother's.

When she goes into a particularly dense part of the forest, her eyes widen at the sight of Aonung cursing out the girl known as Fayne.

Fayne is backed up to a tree with tears in her eyes, and she lets out a scream as Aonung angrily punches the tree, right next to her face.

Tsireya quickly runs to her aid, standing between them and facing her brother, who is more enraged than she's ever seen him.

Tsireya- Aonung, what's-

Aonung- Do you have any idea what the hell you've done?! Do you?!

Fayne- I-I'm sor-

Aonung- I don't want your damn apology!

With a snarl, he pulls his knife out, and Tsireya quickly puts her hand over his that holds his weapon, and tries to push him back.

Tsireya- No! Aonung stop!

She manages to push him back a decent distance and keep him there as he breathes heavily, still seething. While Fayne slides down to the ground with her eyes overflowing with tears.

Tsireya- What the hell is going on here?!

Feeling sure her brother won't make another move, she stands off of him and he puts his blade away, then she looks between him and Fayne, awaiting an answer.

Fayne- I'm so sorry, I didn't know. I swear I didn't-

Aonung- Shut your lies up!

Tsireya- Aonung, don't-

Aonung- She knows exactly what she did.

He turns away from his sister and walks to a spot between two very close trees, behind a large bush, and kneels down. Tsireya watches in confusion, but when Aonung stands with an unconscious Lo'ak in his arms, she's filled with both shock and anger.

As Aonung starts heading back to the village, Tsireya turns sharply to look at Fayne.

Tsireya- When we get back, you better talk if you know what's good for you.

Tsireya gestures for the girl to get up and follow Aonung, and she complies, still crying her many tears.
