They continue through the dense bush, but despite apologizing, Mo'dan's gaze remains on him. Neteyam shoots him a glare.

Neteyam- You're still doing it.

Mo'dan- Sorry, again. It's just . . . You did choose to accept my offer, though it didn't go as I was expecting.

Neteyam- What I chose to do was kill your disgraceful ass. But things didn't go quite the way I was expecting either.

He smirks at the taller boy when he sees his face pale just a bit.

Mo'dan- Do you still want me dead?

Neteyam- . . . Not as much, since my head is on straight now.

When Mo'dan hums in response, Neteyam assumes their conversation is over and he can focus on where they're going.

Unfortunately, Mo'dan still continues to speak, after a momentary silence.

Mo'dan- Does that mean, if you didn't want me dead, I would've had you for the night?

Neteyam- Oh for the love of Eywa, will you please just drop it?

Mo'dan- Come on, just give me a straight answer.

Neteyam- Ugh, okay. If I wasn't planning to kill you, but still showed up, that would have meant I was accepting your offer.

Mo'dan makes a soft, satisfied noise, though the boy merely stated a hypothetical scenario. Neteyam rolls his eyes, just glad it's over.

Mo'dan- So, do you, or do you not, find me attractive?

Fed up, Neteyam suddenly stops and kicks Mo'dan in the side. He coughs at the impact, and falls over, nearly hitting a tree.

When he sits back up, he winces at the slight pain and rubs his side.

Mo'dan- Damn that hurt. You could've just said no.

Neteyam watches him stiffly stand up, then the chuckle he was holding back breaks out. Earning a pleasantly shocked look from the marine boy. Once Neteyam's laughter ends, they proceed through the forest.

Neteyam- Okay, I'll bite. The scar is pretty cool. How'd you get it?

He looks at the scar decorating his chest, then to his face for an answer, expecting him to brag about some crazy experience. But Mo'dan wears a pitiful expression.

Mo'dan- Aonung gave it to me . . . The night we mated.

Neteyam- Oh . . . You mean the night you forced him to mate with you? Good, you deserved it.

He chuckles softly at Neteyam's true statement.

Mo'dan- I wish he was more like you.

Neteyam looks at him in complete confusion. He figures he and Aonung are already alike in many ways.

Neteyam- Why?

Mo'dan- Because, if he was, he would've just killed me that night.
