Mune Olo'eyktan [Neteyam x Aonung]

Part 58

His son emerges from around the corner, and quickly runs up to them, relieved at the sight of Aonung safe. But the reunion is short, because Jake quickly ushers them through the halls, heading towards an exit.

However, before they make it, the fuel tank can no longer take the pressure, and a massive explosion occurs. Triggering smaller explosions throughout the ship.

The area they're in starts tilting as the ship sinks, and water begins flooding in. As the trio watch the space fill with water, they realize the only way they can get out is to swim through the flooded ship, hoping to find an opening.

As the water rises towards them, they each exchange looks, then take deep breaths and dive in. Led by Aonung, they search for signs of an opening.

When they notice a current flowing against them, they follow it to the source.

One of the many torn openings that were created by the explosions. They swim out of the totaled hunk of metal, and find their way through other pieces to locate the surface.

Neteyam finds a straight path to the top, a bit littered by wreckage, but their best option.

They begin swimming up to the surface, Jake and Neteyam running low on oxygen, until Aonung lets out a clicking noise that draws their attention back down.

He's caught in nets that are hooked onto a large piece of metal, dragging him down. Neteyam quickly turns around, but Jake stops him and points to the surface for him to get some air before he drowns.

The boy reluctantly complies, while Jake swims back for Aonung.

When Neteyam reaches the surface he gasps for air, and takes deep breaths, feeling the natural relief of oxygen in his lungs.

He looks around the area and doesn't see anyone in sight, not even an Ilu. Only the portion of the ship that's still above the water, and a few large patches of rock around.

Suddenly he's splashed with water and his concentration is broken. He looks next to him and sees Aonung's icy blue eyes looking back at him.

He smiles for a moment, before realizing his father hasn't resurfaced yet.

He ducks underwater, looking around for Jake, and finds his large figure steadily sinking below. He taps Aonung, then both boys dive quickly to his aid.

Once they reach him, they bring him to the surface, then towards one of the patches of land.
