Aonung sits shaking his head at what just happened. Watching Neteyam be dragged off filled with emotions he couldn't contain just filled him with disappointment. As Yune begins to rewrap Aonung's torso, he meets the boy's eyes, studying his soul orb.
Yune- He is not as weak or unstable as you now think him to be. I never expected I would have to tell you that.
Aonung- I don't care what he's like, I'm just ready to get back home. Being here does nothing for me.
Cin'lan- Aonung, you all were brought here to improve yourselves, and work through the problems you faced.
Aonung- Well I can't remember anything so I guess those problems are over for me.
She frowns at the hint of turmoil in his voice, and walks up to sit next to him. He almost rolls his eyes at her trying to console him.
Cin'lan- It is hard, knowing something in your mind is missing, but not knowing what.
Aonung- Interesting fact, but I'm not in the mood for a lesson.
Yune- If you think ignoring your own distress is a sign of strength, then you could do with more than just a lesson.
Aonung- Overlooking a few personal issues allows me to focus on more important matters, and prevents me from acting out like the boy that just got dragged out of here.
Yune just shakes his head at him, then leaves Aonung's side, being done with his bandages. He walks over to Na'haji, who's leaning against the wall in silence.
He leans against the spot next to him, looking up at him, and begins to speak very softly to not be heard by the others.
Yune- I know you are blaming yourself, brother.
Na'haji- Because it is my fault, but there is nothing I could ever do to make amends.
Yune- Will you not seize opportunity?
He glances over at Aonung.
Na'haji- I do not think he will have me.
Yune- You think you are not deserving.
Na'haji- An heir who seeks to abandon his home and his people is not deserving of much.
Yune- I do not care. The chief will be after your life. I want you out of here, and Aonung is your best chance.
Na'haji- To take advantage of this is-
Yune- I know you have a soft heart, brother, but your safety is more important to me than a few hurt feelings.
Na'haji- You do not even know if Uncle will come after me. He shows no signs of resentment towards me.
Yune- Have you forgotten what I told you before?
Na'haji- I find it hard to believe that he would kill his own brother to be in power.
Yune- The soul orb cannot lie, and I see that his is tainted. He was lying the day he told us how father died.
Na'haji- Then why will you not tell someone?
Yune- Whoever I tell will try to go against him and inevitably die by his hand. The best I can do is get you out of here.
Na'haji- What about you, and Sorfé? Not to mention Mother.
Yune- Mother will be fine, it is the heir of our father that he does not want around. That is why he keeps you close.
Na'haji- . . .
Yune- Remember, Na'haji, he put that scar on your face. The first time his true intentions were ever so clear.
Na'haji- But, Mother-
Yune- Is the Tsahík. She will not leave the village, you have to leave her behind.
Na'haji- I will not leave you and Sorfé, you must come with me.
Yune- Secure your relationship with the heir and I'll see what I can do.
Na'haji- . . . Okay.
Yune- You are a good match for him, you just need to let him see that so he will choose you. Prove yourself useful to him, then you can stay in Awa'atlu, away from harm. At the future Olo'eyktan's side, no one can touch you.
Na'haji thinks for a moment, then nods at his brother's words, deciding to continue with their plan.
Yune- Good. Now, stay tough and stern as you are, it seems to impress him.
Na'haji- I hardly needed to be told that much.
Yune- Precautions.
Na'haji- As always . . . You know if I succeed, it will likely hurt Neteyam even more.
Yune- There is always a price to pay, brother.
Yune stands from the wall, patting his brother's arm, and heads to the entrance, then looks back once more.
Yune- I will see you later, the usual spot.
Na'haji- (nods)
