Part 146

Neteyam pulls Aonung off in the direction of the cave they claimed, and once they reach it, he smiles at the pit that's still set up, reminding him of their shared meal here.

Neteyam- This is where we stayed when we got stranded for a night. Back when we all thought you were just a jerk.

He laughs softly, thinking it amusing.

Neteyam- It's also the first place I kissed you, so . . .

Aonung- You just said you thought I was a jerk then.

Neteyam- Yeah, but before that you had saved me from drowning, and it was so different from what I was used to, it pissed me off.

Aonung- I'm still not seeing what made you want to kiss me.

Neteyam- (laughs) You were just as confused then too. Hell, even I was kinda confused, but unlike you, I didn't stop to ask myself any questions.

Aonung chuckles at him, and looks around the cave, trying to see if anything comes to mind, but nothing does. Not even a trace of it comes back, but he can't say he's surprised. At this point, even if he'll never truly remember it, it wouldn't hurt to at least know what happened.

Aonung- So, how exactly did it go?

Aonung looks at him expectantly, and he smiles, letting go of the boy's hand.

Neteyam- Well, it started a little something like . . .

He abruptly shoves Aonung against the wall with a hold on his wrists, startling him. He leans in, but stops just before their lips meet.

Neteyam- This . . . You can probably guess what happened next.

He leans back, and Aonung suddenly smirks at him, making him wonder where the shy boy he knows went, because this one is bolder than he's used to.

Aonung- What if I can't?

Neteyam- Then I'll just have to show you.

Aonung- Please do.
