Chapter 10

Awa'atlu's beaches radiate warmly under the sun, the abnormal winter weather long gone. Three months ago, after first arriving back home, the Paltu boys were sent back to their village.

Though the reason isn't known, Jake let Yune's behavior slide, and didn't tell the boy's mother. Unfortunately, a month after they left, Jake got word that the older Paltu boy died in a hunting accident, but the worst of the news wasn't Na'haji's death, it was Yune's revenge. He killed their Olo'eyktan, and took place as the heir.

Jake wasn't sure whether or not letting Yune go the way he did was good for the boy's people or bad, but there was nothing he could do to change the decision.

Many of the teens that were stranded with the Sully kids have since gone back to their own lives, not interacting with them. All except for some who found themselves fond of them.

Talk of them running off to have a party at the worst of times was high when they first returned, and though people were glad they were back, they were still in big trouble. Each of them had an overload of chores for two weeks straight. All except for Rotxo, that is.

Since returning, the boy still spends most of his time curled up in his and Lo'ak's den, never speaking to anyone, and never going out. His return to the place he came from has severely messed with head, or at least that's what the Tsahík says, but even she can't seem to bring him out of it.

The whole ordeal has left Lo'ak quite frustrated, and snappy most of the time. And though it gets on his friends' nerves, they try to tolerate it because they know of his situation. Some, however, have a harder time sympathizing.

The clan's princess has been spending most of her time teaching the art of delicacy to the one who has captured her heart; Spider. The boy was asking her out for weeks, but was finally accepted when he stopped asking. The two, in Neteyam's eyes, make quite the cute couple.

Speaking of the oldest Sully boy, he has spent the past two months continuing Aonung's training, since the first month the boy spent recovering. The Sky People are still there, even though they aren't after them at the moment, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

Neteyam had expected his father to aid in Aonung's training as well, but the man isn't as involved as he used to be. He's the Olo'eyktan so naturally he's a busy man, but things have slowed down and there aren't as many pressing matters to attend to.

His father has just become distant, and he has no clue why. It bothers him, since they finally created a better relationship with each other, but his mother tells him not to worry about it too much.

Fortunately, his training sessions, and alone times, with his lover are enough to keep him happy and worry free. It's when a certain other boy shows up that his peace is completely ruined, but since that boy isn't present at the moment, Neteyam refuses to think of him.

Currently, all the blue boy's focusing on is his surroundings.

In the clearing they like to train in, Neteyam is sitting on the ground with his legs crossed and his eyes closed. His ears twitch around, listening in all directions for the marine boy that's supposed to sneak up on him.

Surprisingly, this time he isn't aware of Aonung's presence until a gentle hand slides his braids out of the way for the boy to press a soft kiss on the side of his neck.
