With a fast pace, Neteyam wanders along the shore, scanning the area for who he's looking for, then spots the boy sitting in the sand.
Once he's a bit closer, he calls out to him, but receives no response. When he calls again, Aonung looks his way, but suddenly stands and starts going in the opposite direction.
Feeling puzzled, Neteyam speeds into a jog, catching up to the boy and grabbing his hand to stop him.
Neteyam- Are you alright?
Aonung says nothing, and doesn't turn to face him.
Neteyam- Aonung?
He leans to catch a glimpse of his face, but the boy snatches his hand away and starts walking off.
Neteyam- What's wrong? Why won't you speak?
He continues to follow after the silent boy, feeling his worries grow.
Neteyam- Is this about what I did the night of the party?
With a sigh, he finally speaks, but doesn't stop moving.
Aonung- No.
Neteyam- Is it about Lo'ak? He's making up with Tsireya right now.
Aonung- No. I just can't be around you anymore.
His heart drops, fearing the worst.
Neteyam- Why?
Aonung doesn't answer him, and continues to take long strides trying to get away from him. There's only one reason he can think of that might cause this. Aonung must know what he did. He internally panics a bit. He isn't sure why he expected Mo'dan to actually listen to him and keep their secret to himself.
Neteyam- I'm sorry, Aonung. I don't know what came over me. I would never do it again, I swear to you.
He continues following Aonung, desperately hoping for forgiveness.
Neteyam- But he just wouldn't leave me alone, I mean, it's hard to ignore that kind of-
Aonung suddenly stops, making him do the same, then finally turns to face him, wearing confusion.
Aonung- What are you talking about?
His mouth drops agape, staring blankly, hardly able to speak through his shock.
Neteyam- I . . . W-Why did you say you can't be around me?
Aonung- Because of your father. He told me off for already having a mate.
Neteyam- Oh . . .
He still isn't quite sure what happened there or when, but he knows it has nothing to do with what he almost exposed.
Aonung- So what are you talking about?
Neteyam- Uh, nothing, I was just-
Aonung- Who wouldn't leave you alone?
Aonung turns to fully face him, making him take a nervous step back.
Aonung- And what were you apologizing for? Did you go after Mo'dan again?
Neteyam- No. Just forget about it.
Aonung- I can't just forget about it, now I know you're holding something from me.
Neteyam- Aonung, please.
Aonung- No. Is something going on?
Neteyam- Didn't you just say you weren't supposed to be around me?
Aonung- Forget that, Jake isn't here.
Neteyam goes silent, making Aonung worry.
Aonung- Neteyam, what is it? You know you can tell me.
He takes in a long and deep breath, then exhales without a bit more confidence than he already had, which doesn't help.
Neteyam- I . . . I . . . kissed someone.
Aonung ears lay, and Neteyam can already see the anger on his face.
Aonung- Who?
Neteyam- . . . Mo'dan . . .
