They each turn to the entrance and see Tsireya walking in, but she's brought a guest with her; Na'haji.
Sorfé squints when he meets his brother's gaze.
Tsireya- I told him he can join us. That's okay right?
Lo'ak and Rotxo respond simultaneously, but with different answers. Lo'ak's being "yes", and Rotxo's being a blunt "no".
They look at each other for a moment, before Lo'ak turns back to the other two.
Lo'ak- He can stay.
Rotxo- Lo'ak.
Lo'ak- Go ahead and sit, we'll be right back. Kiri, watch the fish.
His sister nods, then Lo'ak grabs Rotxo's hand and pulls him outside of the den while Tsireya and Na'haji take a seat. He pulls Rotxo a short distance from the entrance, and the boy looks up at him with annoyance on his face.
Lo'ak- We talked about this.
Rotxo- And I told you I don't trust him.
Lo'ak- He hasn't done anything wrong since he's been here. Plus, she likes him.
Rotxo- You don't know that.
Lo'ak- Yes I do. I can tell by the way she looks at him, it's the way she used to look at me.
Rotxo- Well I don't approve.
Lo'ak- And Aonung didn't approve of us.
Rotxo- This is different.
Lo'ak- Is it? It sounds like you're just being overprotective, like he was.
Rotxo pulls his hand from Lo'ak's hold, and crosses his arms.
Rotxo- I'm not.
Lo'ak- Then why don't you trust him?
Rotxo- First he was all up in Aonung's face, and now Tsireya's. Both children of the late Olo'eyktan.
Lo'ak- You think he's chasing power?
Rotxo glares at him because of his tone laced with disbelief.
Rotxo- Yes.
Lo'ak- He's already the heir in his own village.
Rotxo- You didn't like him before, why are you taking his side now?
Lo'ak- Tsireya wouldn't let herself get close to someone that's bad. She's smart, and a good judge of character, you should trust her more.
Rotxo- I do trust her, it's him I have a problem with.
Lo'ak- Well you can't choose who she likes, and you shouldn't interfere either.
His mate huffs and rolls his eyes, making him sigh.
Lo'ak- Look, I hated him more than anything before, alright, but Aonung hated me before, then eased up when we got to know each other better.
Rotxo- I still don't know about this.
Lo'ak- Hey, he can't be that bad if Tsireya thinks he's okay enough to join us for lunch. Right?
Rotxo looks up at him blankly for a moment, but suddenly begins to smile.
Lo'ak- What?
Rotxo- Since Neteyam stopped being around much, you've really stepped up, keeping everyone in check, and maintaining the little peace we have left. I'm proud.
He hugs Lo'ak, lying his head against his chest, and Lo'ak hugs him back with a smile.
Lo'ak- Like the more mature me?
Rotxo- Yeah, as long as you're still a little wild underneath.
Lo'ak- Wouldn't be me if I was completely tame now, would I?
Rotxo looks up at him with a small laugh, and he kisses his forehead before separating and grabbing his hand to pull him back to the den.
