Out at the beach, Aonung strolls along the sand, alone. Looking up at the stars, he starts longing to see Neteyam, but quickly shakes his head in an attempt to rid himself of the idea. The thought of seeing the night sky reflect in those golden eyes. . . Again, he shakes the idea off.

Deciding that he needs something to focus on as a distraction, he goes into the water, hoping to have a relaxing ride within the reef.

He calls out to an Ilu, and it happily comes over to him. After rubbing its snout with a smile, he holds out his bond to connect with the creature.

He does so, but the creature seems to be distant to him, the connection is faint, but the Ilu acts as if nothing is wrong.

Trying not to get worked up over nothing, he climbs onto it and dives underwater. Enjoying the feeling of the water around him, and the view of the bioluminescent creatures. But after riding for a bit, his connection to the Ilu fades even more.

So much so, it's as if there was no connection for just a moment.

He immediately makes the creature resurface, worried for it. He brings it to shore and calls out to one of the warriors nearby.

The woman comes over to him and he explains what happened when he rode the Ilu. She gives it a physical inspection and sees nothing wrong, but decides to make tsaheylu with it to see for herself what Aonung felt.

Unfortunately, even after riding it, she found nothing wrong with the creature. Their connection was strong.

In confusion, Aonung simply waves the problem off, not wanting to create any worry. He gives a slight smile of appreciation for the help and goes on his way, but inside he's still concerned. He knows what he felt, so why didn't she feel it too?

As he continues to think, he remembers the way his father used to scold him. Though, it was never enough to bruise or make him bleed, it couldn't have damaged him. Right?

With that question in mind, he decides to go see his mother.

There are many problems he chooses to face by himself, but this is his connection to everything, if there's really something wrong with it then he needs to find out what, and fix the problem.
