What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

Ash, Liko, Roy, Dot, Ult and Navi walk through the forest before spotting Friede, who smirks at them. "Glad you were able to find our meetup spot."

"Hey Friede!" Ash greeted before turning to Navi, "Navi, this is Friede, the guy who made the Risining Volt Tacklers."

"So you're the one staying in my old room." Friede remarked before kneeling down to Navi's level. "Good to meet ya."

"Nice to meet you too." Navi said hesitantly.

"So, what's the fieldwork you needed our help on?" Dot asked.

"Oh, we'll get to that, just gotta wait for a few more members." Friede explained.

"Ah, the World Monarch and the Rising Volt Tacklers." A man emerged from the trees. "I've heard a lot about you."

"Guys, meet Professor Willow." Friede introduced the man, "He's an old friend of mine researching Pokemon ecology and distribution." Friede looked around the area, "Hey, where's your assistant?"

"Right here!" Goh hurriedly rushed through the trees. "Sorry, I got distracted catching Pokemon."

"Hey Goh!" Ash greeted his old friend, "What are you doing here?"

Grookey hops off Goh's shoulder and begins to play alongside Pikachu and the other Pokemom.

"Well, I was traveling around the regions when I met Professor Willow." Goh explained, "He and I really hit it off because of how much we liked catching Pokemon. He offered to make me his assistant so I can learn new catching techniques!"

"Not to ruin the reunion or anything," Friede suddenly stood between Ash and Goh, "But we gotta get a move on."

The Professors lead the trainers to a tall blue-colored pillar with a Poke-Ball logo in the center. "This is a PokeStop." Willow explained, "We've installed many of them around the area to help us in our Field Research."

Cap scampers over to the PokeStop and spins the small circle in the center. Poke Balls and Razz Berries fall out and the trainers collect them. "Pretty cool right?" Goh asked. "You can feed those berries to the Pokemon, that way you don't need to battle them!"

Ult eagerly spins another PokeStop and collects the items dispensed from it. Willow walks over to that very PokeStop, "PokeStops can attract wild Pokemon with the help of a Lure Module." he pulls out a pink-colored device and attaches it to the PokeStop, attracting some nearby Pokemon.

The trainers sit at a nearby bench as Willow lays out a map of the surrounding woods and a small beach. "Now, I want all of you to go out and catch Pokemon only using Poke Balls and the berries found within the PokeStops. No battling with your own Pokemon."

"Aw, man!" Ash and Pikachu deflated.

"What do we do with the Pokemon after we catch them?" Roy asked.

"You can just give them to me." Willow explained, "I'll take care of them."

The trainers begin to walk off, though Willow stops Ash from leaving. "Pardon me, Mr. Ketchum." he began, "But, Professor Kukui had informed me you own a Mythical Pokemon?"

"Oh, you mean Melmetal?" Ash asked.

Willow's mouth broke into a wide grin, making Ash raise his eyebrow. "Willow's really interested in the Meltan line." Goh explained, "And he's wants to borrow your Melmetal to study it."

"Oh, go ahead!" Ash handed Melmetal's Poke Ball to Willow. "Take good care of it while I'm gone."

Willow beamed at the Poke Ball in his palm, "I promise to treat your Pokemon like my own."
