You had your chance••••••
"No but that was seriously awful."
Peter sighed a little. "I'm sure you didn't do as bad as you thought you did." He murmured gently.
Edmund ran a hand through his hair. "It was ridiculous Peter." He grumbled. "I'm sorry but I've definitely failed."
"You don't know that."
Edmund snorted. "No, I definitely do know that." He replied.
"You're probably over exaggerating." Peter told him.
"There's no way Edmund Pevensie has failed an exam."
Edmund resisted the urge to roll his eyes as he turned around, not surprised to see James stood there, smirking.
"The know it all Edmund, the smartest boy in his year," James laughed. "Thinks he failed an exam."
Peter could see the joy in the boy's eyes, and stood sharply. "How about you just leave." He snapped.
James ignored Peter mostly, shaking his head. "I just find it so funny how you had your chance, you had the same time as the rest of us, and the same time to revise, and I reckon I've done better than you." He mocked.
Edmund raised an eyebrow. "Well, first time for everything right James?" He muttered.
James glared at him. "You wanna go, Pevensie?" He snapped.
Peter took a step forward. "Lay one finger on him and you won't know what hit you." He warned. "Now instead of making fun of people and mocking them and threatening to beat them up, why don't you go off and start revising for your next exam, God knows you need all the revision you can get."
James and Peter both glared at each other for ages, before James marched off down the corridor, not looking back.
Edmund sighed. "Gosh I really hate him." He grumbled.
"Just ignore him Ed," Peter told him. "Honestly, I'd be surprised if he gets anything higher than a D."
Edmund chuckled a little at this.
"Now come on, I doubt you did that bad." Peter said. "Just let me know when you get the results back yeah?"
Edmund nodded a little.
And when he did get his results back and he saw the B on the paper, he let out a sigh of relief, perhaps he actually hadn't done as bad as he thought, which Peter kept telling him and laughing over when he was told the grade.
And both of the brothers could hardly keep back their smirks when they found out that James had gotten a C, and at the look on his face when he found out that Edmund had done better on an exam that he thought he'd failed than he had when he thought he did okay.
