Every single day

"He has a go at me every single day and I don't know what to do anymore!"

Susan resisted the urge to roll her eyes. "Maybe don't have a go back at him, because I don't think it's helping." She said.

Peter stared at her for a moment. "He doesn't make it easy." He grumbled after a while of silence.

"I know he doesn't." Susan said. "And I'm not saying you're as bad as him, but you can make things worse sometimes."

Peter hesitated. "He's just been like this for so long and I want it to change." He sighed. "I find myself snapping at him when I really don't want to, then he snaps back again and then it just turns into a full blown argument and I'm getting so tired of it."

"Maybe try walking away next time?" Susan suggested.

Peter bit his lip. "He'll never talk to me if I do that." He murmured. "It may sound stupid but when we're arguing, it's the only time we're talking to each other, and I'd rather that than nothing."

Susan sighed, trying to understand. "He'll get better at some point," She said gently, reaching over and taking hold of Peter's hand that was rested on the table. "I know he will, we're all just going through a rough patch at the moment and he's not really handling it in the best way."

Peter nodded slightly, not saying anything.

"Now come on," Susan breathed. "The homework won't do itself."

Peter snorted. "I wish it would."
