Happy Anniversary

"Okay who left you in charge again?"
"Um, Mum and Dad." Peter replied.
Edmund nodded slowly. "Maybe if I try really hard I can persuade them not to go." He said slowly, thinking.
Peter rolled his eyes playfully which made Edmund chuckle.
"I'm kidding." He said, sitting down on the sofa. "Although I do think we're all old enough to look after ourselves."
Their parents were going out for a meal at a nearby restaurant for their wedding anniversary, leaving the four alone for the night, but really none of them minded at all.
"Yeah but, I still enjoy being put in charge." Peter teased.
"Oh I know." Edmund muttered, looking up when Susan entered the room.
"Dinner should be ready in about ten minutes." She announced, wiping her hand on a tea towel.
Peter nodded, but smiled when his parents appeared in the doorway, both all dressed up.
"Right we're off." Their Dad announced. "You think you can all behave?"
Edmund caught the hint of teasing in his Dad's voice and smirked. "No, you're gonna come back home later and the house will be upside down." He told him.
His Dad returned the smirk. "Better not be." He replied.
"You got dinner under control?" Helen asked Susan, who nodded quickly.
"Of course, now go on, go have a nice evening." She said, all but pushing them towards the door.
"Happy anniversary!" Peter and Edmund called after them, getting a chuckle from the adults as they left the house.
"Right," Peter joked. "I'm in charge now, you have to do everything I tell you."
Edmund snorted. "Yeah right."
