Why now?

"Okay, and why are you telling me this now? Why now and not earlier?"

Edmund shrugged. "I forgot." He muttered, sounding slightly unsure.

Peter sighed, burying his face in his hands. "I seriously don't think I'm going to have time." He told his brother. "I've got so much to do as it is."

"If you can't do it then say so." Edmund said. "There's no harm in saying no."

Peter hesitated, glancing back up at his brother.

"Sorry for forgetting." Edmund added before his brother could say anything else. "I got distracted by other stuff before I could tell you."

Peter shook his head. "No don't worry, it's not your fault." He breathed. "Just tell them I'm very sorry but I have a lot on my plate at this specific moment in time."

Edmund nodded in agreement. "You need anything?" He asked as he went to leave.

Peter gave him a small smile. "I'm okay." He breathed. "Thank you though."
