July 8th
I wish I could freeze the picture

Anytime she looked at that picture it caused an ache in her heart.

It was an odd kind of ache, her siblings weren't gone, they were just far away.

Too far away.

Across the ocean.

It would take hours to reach them.

They were thousands of miles away.

And she kept that picture on her desk, of them all at the train station, the one a kind stranger had offered to take of them, on Edmunds old camera.

She wished she could've frozen time in that moment, when they were together, but now circumstances had torn them apart for the hundredth time.

They were all no stranger to separation, but that didn't mean they were used to it, or liked it in any way.

Susan was enjoying America, of course she was, it was a whole new adventure for her and a new culture and a new way of life.

But she missed her siblings, she missed England, and of course, mostly, she missed Narnia.

And all she could do was wait, she couldn't do anything about missing all this stuff, she had no choice in whether they stayed in America or not, but right now it was looking very much like they'd be staying for at least a few more months.

So she just had to stay strong.

Nothing lasted forever, and before she knew it she'd be back with her family, happy once again.

But little did she know how much her life was about to fall apart over the next few years.
