Peter walked into the living room, surprised to notice Edmund sat down on the sofa, staring at the wireless as he listened closely.
"You're up early. What are you listening to?" He asked.
Edmund glanced at him. "They landed on the Normandy coast early this morning." He murmured.
Peter nodded slowly. "Oh." He breathed.
"The invasion is huge by the sounds of it." Edmund sighed. "Could honestly be one of the largest to date."
Peter gave him a sympathetic look and walked over to sit beside him. "Dad's gonna be absolutely fine." He whispered. "You don't need to worry."
"You don't know that." Edmund replied quietly. "You haven't been listening to this."
Peter stared at him. "Maybe you shouldn't be listening to it." He said softly.
Edmund hesitated. "I just hate not knowing." He told him. "I have no idea what's happening to Dad, but at least I can keep up to date with what's happening with the invasion."
Peter didn't say anything for a little while, listening to what the person on the wireless was saying for a moment, before he nodded his head a little. "Okay," He breathed. "Just please don't work yourself up, there's no point in thinking about the negative, it won't help you."
"I know." Edmund breathed. "I just hope he'll be okay."
"Pray about it." Peter told him. "That's all we can do right now I'm afraid, but it'll be enough. He'll be alright, I know he will."
Edmund just gave him a small smile, before turning back to concentrate on the wireless.
