I've never said that••••••
"What if I make dinner?" Edmund suggested.
All three of his siblings froze, blinking at him.
"What?" Edmund asked, frowning.
Peter hesitated, trying to think of some excuse as to why Edmund should definitely not make dinner. "What happened to 'i can't cook'?" He asked quickly.
Edmund raised an eyebrow. "I've never said that." He said.
"Just because you've never said it doesn't mean it's not true." Susan said slowly.
"Oh come on," Edmund breathed. "I'll never learn if I don't practice."
"If you're making dinner in leaving the house." Lucy said, raising her hands in surrender. "I'm not being caught in a house fire or something."
"I am not going to set the house on fire." Edmund argued.
"I'm not taking my chances." Lucy teased.
"Right, I will make dinner and I am going to prove you all wrong." Edmund said firmly.
"Susan supervise him." Peter said. "Me and Lucy are out of here."
Edmund saw his brother's smirk as Peter ran from the room, and couldn't help me laugh. "You're idiots!" He called after them, shaking his head before heading for the kitchen.
And he in fact, did not burn down the house.
