Lando

My heart pounded in my chest as the call comes through. I held the phone to my ear in shock unable to even speak right now, I had never felt this before. The fear rushed through my body, I wasn't even replying to P as she spoke down the phone to me.

Meg was in labor.

I had only been away from her for a few hours but this had changed everything. Meg wasn't due for another month, and hadn't shown any signs of going into labor so she insisted I flew to Monza for the race this weekend.

I had been here for less than a day, it was media day but I was still around 3 hours away. I could miss everything, I knew I shouldn't have come but she insisted.

"Lando!" P snaps down the phone at me, I snap back to reality. Meg was in labor and I had to get to her right now, no matter how long it took I had to be by her side. "Her water has broken and we are going to the hospital so you need to be here now!" She snaps at me.

"Let me speak to her" I demand, I could hear the phone fumbling around before I hear her voice and it settled every nerve I was currently having.

"Lando I'm scared" She speaks down the phone, I could hear the pain in her voice. I knew she would be having contractions now, she would be in pain and I can't do anything.

I can't help her, not at all.

"Okay baby listen to me, I am going to be on the jet soon enough and I will be with you as soon as I can. I know you're scared I know you are but Max and P are there, you will be okay and I will be with you soon baby okay?"

"What if you don't make it in time" She sobs, she was upset and I wasn't even there to hold her and tell her it would be okay.

"I will, I don't care what it takes. I don't care if I have to crawl on my knees over broken glass I will be there by your side before our baby gets there I promise you Meg"

"You've never broken a promise before, don't start now" She tells me.

She was right I had never broken a promise to her and sure as hell wasn't going to start now.

Once the call ends I don't even need to say anything, I can't say a word to anyone. I just run to Zak, I had to tell him she was in labor. I had to tell him I was about to become a dad. The second my eyes connect with his it was like he already knew.

"Let me know when the baby is here safe" He tells me, I nod before rushing to a car.

I had to get to Monaco and now.

Three hours on a jet had never felt so long in my entire life. I ran from the car through the halls of the hospital, Max had text me the room number and I knew P and him were by her side along with her mother.

I also knew she only wanted me right now as much as I wanted her.

The second I reach the correct floor I don't remember much else until I see her. As I burst into the room I see her in the bed, her mother was holding her hand as she was in the middle of a contraction. I walk right over to her side, right away her mother drops her hand for me to take in mine.

"You made it" She speaks, I lean down and press my lips to her forehead. Her forehead was sweating and she held my hand tightly as she worked through the pain of the contraction.

I had never seen her in such pain in my life but she was handling it well.

Better than I ever could.

"I made it baby I told you I would" Her hand stays in mine as she squeezed it tightly.

"It hurts Lando" she cries, there were a lot of people in this room. I think she needed it to be just us, if she wanted everyone to say then they could.
