Riley POV

I didn't understand what was happening anymore, and I stopped trying to make sense of any of it. I was pregnant by a werewolf and now marked by another werewolf. My body was so achy and my mind a fuzzy mess.

The more I tried to piece things together, the more of a migraine I gave myself. I was either certifiably insane or this was all real. I had to go on with the latter of the two options.

Every second of the day my body burned to touch Jax and Liam. I refused to let myself give into the asshole Alpha, again, so I tried putting all my energy into Jax. Something felt off without Liam next to us though. I know Jax felt it too, but we didn't speak about it. Even with him being a smog prick, we both preferred him close, than not at all.

I knew nothing of this life, but I knew I could trust Jax.
For now, I needed to let him lead. I wasn't use to being a naive girl following a man around, but that is what I was in the supernatural world.

The independent woman that rose to be an executive before the age of 30 meant nothing anymore. Everything I learned and pushed for in my life was now irrelevant.

I was naive to everything, because I never knew any of this existed. I wanted to learn as much as I could, but what if I did die in child birth? My main concern needed to be protecting my child and surviving.

I didn't think I could ever be this motherly either, but the more my baby grew inside me, the more possessive I became of him. Nothing and no one would make my child so much as cry. I needed to protect him above all else.

Along with this new possessive nature I also felt strength and intuition. When Claire and Star joined hands I sensed something dark and powerful. My heartbeat quickened knowing Claire was suffering greatly.

I stood and felt my body almost glide to the girl. My human mind had shut off, and whatever supernatural magic I possessed came forward.

"Enough!" I demanded of Star, but she seemed to be wrapped in the thralls of their magic. I don't know why, but I knew I could break the connection between them.

Liam tried to move me away from them and a spark of anger rose in me. He would not tell me what to do. He might be an Alpha, but he was below me.

I shoved him back and slapped my hand over them. I could feel the pull of both their magic. Claire's magic was weak, but I felt it growing as Star's was losing strength. I closed my eyes and pushed an invisible barrier between both their magics.

The white and orange light receded into both of them, but I saw Claire feed off Star's magic. The sweet child radiated strength as her eyes flashed purple with an evilness peeking through.

Our eyes locked and I felt something familiar in her. Not her magic or her wolf, but something else, something deeper, like our souls were connected. The girl bowed her head to me and retreated back to sit down.

Liam was screaming at everyone that he wanted answers, but we had none. I was caught in a trance like state, once again trying to piece together what was happening. It was like I knew the answers, but couldn't reach them. I didn't want to accept this life of supernatural, yet I felt like it was apart of me.

I knew there was something about Claire too. She wasn't right. My eyes caught hers again and they were a deep chocolate, pleading to me for forgiveness. I didn't know what she did wrong, but I knew she needed my help.

"Does this mean Riley was once a witch?" Liam asked and caught my attention.

"No... it means..." Star took a hard gulp looking to me in fear. She was silently asking if it was ok to reveal my secret. I didn't know my secret though. For some reason my head slightly moved side to side.

"Means what?" Liam flipped the table in anger.

Star opened her mouth to speak when the door to her shop opened. All our heads turned to the family that just entered and my mouth dropped. This was too much to be a coincidence.

"You need to get laid, Barry." Sophia said flipping her blond hair.

"That's disgusting, especially coming from his sister." Brandon said escorting them to the little cafe area.

My heart wanted to leap out of my chest seeing Brandon. So much was going on I didn't realize how much I missed him until I saw him. Wow! I really do suck at being a friend.

"Enough, please. Just leave our brother be. He will find a woman and mate soon. We are here for more important reasons than Barry's sex life. A sex life none of us want to know about." Kate, the youngest of the sibling said.

I giggled a little, remembering Barry was gay. He wouldn't be finding a woman anytime soon.

"Riley!" Barry's eyes opened wide to me.

"Riley!" Sophia screamed running to me with arms wide. We only knew each other for a few hours so that was a little much. She did seem to have a weird likeness to me though.

"Hi!" I waved my hand, then Sophia nearly knocked me over with her hug. My eyes met Brandon and filled with tears. He gave me a smile and nod that he missed me too.

"Oh my goddess! What is this? You're huge! When did you get pregnant? Holy fuck the goddess! Are you marked? That's not any mark either. Oh my goddess! You're one of us!" She screamed like a maniac and hugged me again, swaying our bodies back and forth. This woman had way too much energy.

"Day drinking again?" I asked Cassie, the middle sister of the three.

"Nope, this is normal Sophia."

"She is a lot like drunk Sophia." I said, trying to unwrap her arms from my neck. "Hi Sophia. It's good to see you too."

"I predicted this. See!" She looked to Barry then back to me. "I knew I needed to bring you to that club. This was why. You were meant to get knocked up by a werewolf. Who is your mate?"

Liam suddenly stepped between us. "You saw this?" He asked like she just said she killed his mother or something.

Sophia's eyes widened at him as if she hadn't noticed he was there the whole time. "Alpha!" She said bowing her head.

"Don't do that. It only makes his already big ego worse." I said to all four of the siblings then pushed Liam to sit down. "Stop ruining everything and just shut up for once." I rolled my eyes at him.

Liam let out a nasty growl and I crossed my arms over my little baby bump.

"I'm pregnant, tired, and so fucking confused about everything in my life, Liam. Don't. Piss. Me. Off." I swear my eyes burned him as I spoke.

I felt Jax's arm wrapped around my waist and his lips went to his mark on my shoulder. He peppered kisses there, making me moan in need. "Calm yourself, beautiful." He said.

"No! Stop doing that." I pushed his face off me and wipe his spit from my neck. Some how this stupid mark on my body made me lose all reasoning to these two idiots.

"No?" Jax questioned.

"No! You heard me." I turned to Sophia. "What did you mean you predicted this?"

"Nothing." She quickly answered.

"We came to get some herbs for a headache. We didn't mean to bother any of you. It was good to see you again, Riley." Barry grabbed Sophia's arm, but Brandon stepped in his way.

"Too late Barry. Explain." He nodded to me and I gave him a smile.

"Hi Brandon. I missed you." I stepped closer to him for a hug when two feral growls erupted behind me.

"Don't even think about it." I warned both of them, then turned and hugged Brandon.

"It so good to see you. I checked on you every day, but I wasn't allowed to see you."

"What?" I pulled back from his arms.

"I'm going to tear your throat out." Liam spoke with his eyes black to Brandon.

"I dare you to try and I'll slit your throat in your sleep." I countered him. "I told you to sit down and shut up!" I ordered Liam.

"I think we all need to sit down and shut up." Jax said moving his hands from my waist to take a seat. He looked exhausted and I didn't like it.
