Jax POV
Liam stood behind Riley and I felt his growing arousal, as well as, smelt hers. I took Riley's hand and brought her to my office. As I closed the door I nodded for Liam to follow. He smirk at me with dark eyes.
"Are you ok?" My hand roamed over her belly, listening intently for my son's heartbeat. It was stronger than ever and made me feel so full of happiness.
I always wanted a family, but now with a mate and a child so close to being in this world it was truly the only thing I wanted.
I loved my pack, needed to lead them alongside Liam, but Riley and my children would always be my world.
"I'm ok, I promise. It felt good too." She smiled at me as she wrapped her arms around my neck.
My door opened but neither us turned to look at the man that enter. We were lost in each other's eyes and it was the only place I wanted to be.
"I see you two are still disgustingly in love." Liam spoke with discontent, but wrapped his arms around Riley from behind. His hands soothed her growing belly and I knew he was doing the same as I did; listening for our son's heartbeat.
"I'm ok, Liam." She whispered, leaning her head back to his shoulder.
"That was stupid what you did. Conner could had snapped your neck in seconds."
"He didn't though. He was scared, trying to control some ridiculously powerful beast inside him. He needs our help."
"Hybrids are unnatural. They can't be controlled. I've tried for years with them, Riley."
I looked over my Alpha and saw the sadness inside him. Liam did take in many hybrids. Most of them we either killed when they went on a rampage, or they killed themselves from the disgust they felt from the evil consuming them.
Riley looked to Liam. "Why are they so... unhinged?"
"Their spirit is too strong for this world. Conner is part werewolf, part vampire. He has both a feral beast and deep blood lust inside him. His human, wolf, and vampire constantly fight for control.
Any hybrid that has lived past twenty is because they undergo a separation spell. It's dangerous and can kill them, not to mention hurts like hell. It takes five to ten sessions of the spell too. Some that start the process never live to finish it."
"If hybrids can be created it shouldn't be just to die. It isn't fair."
"No, it's not gorgeous, but that is how our world is." Liam nuzzled his head into her neck. I smiled watching them cuddle into the other. He could feel her natural Luna power radiating from her. She had a power inside her, not just magic, but a will to leader and protect. Riley will be ours and she will be our pack's Luna one day.
He kissed her neck, taking a deep breath of her scent, then stepped back to steal his face and emotions to us.
"Just because it isn't fair doesn't mean we can be reckless though." Liam spoke in all seriousness now. "What you did was stupid and risky. You have a child to protect now. That comes before pack members."
"I've protected this child for months. I gave up my life and do everything the both of you say. I haven't even tried to speak to my father knowing what danger it could cause all of us. Don't you dare tell me I'm not protecting my child properly." Riley turned to face Liam and I sighed at the anger boiling between them.
"I saw you watch Conner, then you walked to him, then your stupid ass touched him after he yelled in your face!" Liam was now in her face.
"I knew I could help him. I knew he needed our help. Maybe he wouldn't of attacked me if you didn't walk around like some asshole calling all us abominations!"
