Liam POV
When I woke from the spell Star put me under I saw Riley thrashing on the table. I never felt so powerless in my life watching her scream silently in pain.
I felt my body lifted in the air and my inside tear apart. It hurt, but I knew it wasn't anything like what Riley was going through. The second I felt power seep out of my pores and into hers, my body fell limp to the ground. Everything went black after that. I just laid defenseless on the floor and drifted away.
"Liam, wake up." Jax's strained voice was close to me. He was worried. I felt his hand caress my cheek, then a sting from him slapping me.
"Fuck!" I shouted, jumping to sit up on the couch.
"Finally! We need to move." Jax stood, walking to a little table and grabbed clothes to throw at me. "Get changed."
My hands grabbed at my chest. I felt sore! I never felt muscle pain like this before. I was incredibly tired too, like I haven't slept in weeks.
"Where's Riley?" I asked exhausted. Just speaking those few words took all my energy.
"She is asleep and will be for most the day. Our troops are heading out to Danny's pack. We need to met them and prepare. If Jeremiah fails, Demetrius will be a day or two out from declaring war on us."
"She is ok?"
"She is perfect." He smiled at me and I saw the pride in his eyes. It worked! I was so achy because they took her Lycan from my soul and restored her to her true self. I gave him a weak smile and slowly stood. "Our pack?" I questioned what he said. Last I checked he rejected us.
"Your pack. One day, Danny's will be my pack and you know it." His voice held annoyance that I was trying to tease him.
"I know." I said tripping over my feet and landing right back on the couch. "I feel like a pathetic human." I spit out in frustration. My legs were tight and it hurt to put one foot in front of the other.
"You're not human, just a weak, regular wolf." He teased, leaning over to pick me up.
"I'm still an Alpha!" I demanded.
"Yeah, you're still an Alpha."
"Help me to the bathroom? Walking seems to be a bit harder than I ever thought it could be."
Jax chuckled at me, throwing an arm around my waist and helping me to stand. We walked in the bedroom and I put my hand to his chest. Riley laid peacefully in the bed. She looked amazing. Her skin seemed to glow, her hair shiny brown with natural highlights. I wanted to see those beautiful eyes too.
"Sleep, gorgeous. I can't wait to meet all of you." I leaned down to the bed slowly, grunting in pain how my muscles stretched beyond there capabilities. My lips kissed her head and I felt a surge of power from her. She was absolutely perfect.
"Let's get you showered. You smell like a mutt." Jax helped me stand again. I did smell horrible. My shirt was soaked all the way through with sweat. I felt like all the liquids in my body expelled out of pores.
"Did you shower her already?" I asked, looking back to her laying on the bed. She smelled strong of dark wine and cherry blossom. I loved her now potent scent even more.
"Yeah, she was a mess. A beautiful mess." He whispered, lifting my shirt off my body. I hissed raising my arms. Every movement felt like my muscles would just snap in half.
Jax turned on the shower and I held onto the sink removing my pants. If this is how humans felt, I never wanted to be one. It can't be this hard just to undress.
