Brandon POV
Katie and Cassie ran to Barry with tear soaked faces. They all cuddled Sophia, bringing her to her bedroom and crying over her weak body.
"Barry! Can we speak to you?" His father was here and he looked like a man that already met his death. He barley looked at Sophia and I knew it was too hard for him to say goodbye to another child. "Both of you." He added, looking to me.
Our eyes met a moment and Barry nodded ok. I followed him out of the door and down to the kitchen. Barry took a seat not looking my way and his parent stood on the other side of a small wooden island. Barry felt like he failed his family, and in more ways than one.
"We will get through this. I'm here, however you need me." I said in our mind link. I wanted to wrap my arms around him, but I knew it would only make him feel worse. This was still new to him. Being openly gay and mated to me was something he hasn't fully dealt with yet. His parents didn't make it any easier either.
"Do you have anyway to save my daughter." His mother asked me. I looked to her surprised.
"Star should be here soon. I'm hoping she can save her somehow. Maybe a separation spell, but I really don't know. For now, the herbs Barry had been giving her helps keep her fairy suppressed and the broken bond from killing her. To be honest, she isn't doing well. We need to keep a close eye on her. Keep her alive until Liam answers me about where Star is."
"You tried to talk to Liam?" Barry asked with tears already spilling from his eyes. I wanted to reach out to him.
"Yeah, since the first time Jeremiah contacted me. His mind has been turned off or something though. I sent a text to Jax earlier too, but I haven't heard back."
"What if they aren't ok?" Sophia's mom cried into her husband chest. "What if we already lost?"
"We would all feel our link break if anything happened to Liam. He is alive and he is coming here as soon as he can." I said with confidence. We desperately needed our Alpha. A pack was nothing without proper leaders, an Alpha being the height of our strength.
"We have to think straight about all this. Sophia is alive and we aren't under attack. For now, we need to concentrate on strengthening the members here." Barry said. Finally, he was thinking like our lead Delta.
"I can't lose her, son. I lost too much already. Promise me she will be ok!" His father looked to Barry with red swollen eyes. This whole family has seen too much death already. They can't lose Sophia too. It was unfair they kept putting so much on Barry's shoulders though. I needed to help lessen the weight.
"I'm trying, dad. I don't know what to do." Barry's head fall into his hands. I was trying to keep my distance from him, but I couldn't watch him fall apart like this.
"We will get through this. Sophia won't die with all of us protecting her." My hand rubbed over his back. He grabbed my waist, digging his face into my chest. "We need to rest, mate. We need our strength for tomorrow and everyday to come after that. Let me take you to bed." My hand brushed in his hair.
"How can I sleep while my sister is dying right down the hall from me?"
I grabbed his face to look at me. "She isn't going to die. You need rest and will think more clearly with it. I'll set a four hour alarm. That's it, just give yourself four hours."
"Go son! We will stay up with Sophia while you sleep."
"Dad..." Barry looked to him and they both looked at each other with defeat in their eyes.
"It's ok. Let your mate take care of you." His mom said, resting her hand to his father's chest.
"Come on, handsome devil." I pulled Barry to his feet and he hugged me tight.
