Liam POV

We snuck through the walls of the castle heading straight for Riley. I had a flimsy plan that I prayed would work. Each step we took I saw how badly Jax was suffering. This wasn't going to end well.

I heard growls close by and knew it was her. I held my hand up to stop Jax and the four mates a moment to listen.

"It's a shame your father didn't teach you how to fight properly." Demetrius' voice was taunting her.

"I will bath in your blood." She roared out and then we heard ruckus around us. She was homicidal and sloppy. Demetrius was tormenting her to wear her out. Her Lycan can't stay forward forever and once it recedes she will be much weaker than him.

"Stay here! I'll go first to distract him. Freya start the unbinding. Jax." My eyes looked him up and down. He was covered in sweat and seemed anxious. "Just, don't move." I didn't know what to do with him.

I slithered out from the wall, dodging a chair Riley had thrown at Demetrius, but missed.

"We have more guest." Demetrius laughed. He wasn't even fully shifted. "Show yourself!" He demanded of me. Maverick pushed me forward, wanting to please our Lycan King and I scolded him. Stupid wolf forgot he is the very dangerous enemy.

"I came to help contain this beast." I stood tall and proud. I couldn't think of anything else. Riley stared death at me with her red eyes. I had already mind linked her I was here to distract him. She didn't seem to happy to see me though.

"Help? You would be very helpful." Demetrius stepped closer to me, smelling the air around me and I clenched my jaw. He knew Riley marked me. "Would you surrender to save your mate?" Demetrius' hand shot forwards and grabbed me by my neck. I felt his claws digging into my skin and realized this wasn't the best plan.

"Release him!" Riley demanded, taking a defensive stand to ready herself to lunge.

My eyes shot to the small passage way. I heard muffling from the walls and prayed it was enough. My body twisted in his grip, making his hand rip at my neck. I used all my strength to punch at his chest and broke right through.

"What is this?" Demetrius roared, grabbing my wrist and prevented me from moving any further. "Traitors!" He pulled my hand out of his chest then sent me flying across the room.

Riley ran to me, standing over my body like a protective body guard. Demetrius pounded at the wall, revealing the small passage way. "You fools." His eyes shined red at the four women, all kneeling in pain.

"We reject you!" They shouted together then collapsed to the ground. I lifted, staring at the women. They weren't moving. Fuck!

"Riley!" I whispered. "We need to attack, now. He should be weakened."

She nodded her head to me then lifted me to stand. Demetrius's head fell back with sad howl. He grabbed his chest in pain and we charged at him.

"I'll go for the heart, you try and sever his head." I said in our mind link. Riley nodded, jumping to the wall to grab a decorative sword off a shield. I pulled my hand back and shot forwards, puncturing right through his back.

Demetrius stumble backwards. I lifted my body, grabbing his shoulder with one hand and trying to penetrate his heart with the other.

"You idiot!" He roared at me, spinning fast in circles trying to grab me off his back. Riley swung out her sword and just as it hit his neck and strong magic forced us apart.

"I don't think so." Mildred said, standing at the door frame with her hands raised in the air. "No one hurts my mate and lives."

I growled at Mildred, jumping from my spot with a mission to end that woman once and for all. "You take Demetrius. I got the witch."
