Riley POV
"Brandon!" I squealed, leaving Liam's hand and running into his arms.
A few months ago they adopted their first child and I've seen very little of him. She was a gorgeous little girl that needed a lot of care. Her hybrid of wolf and vampire was already present and it required a lot of training to keep her not only happy, but in control. Isabella had the best two dads to help her grow and learn who she is meant to be though.
"My Queen!" He teased me.
"Please stop me calling me that." I smiled at him as I shook my head.
Many bowed to me, but I was a just a normal person. I didn't even feel like a werewolf most the time. Mainly because I never let my wolf come out, or she didn't want to. I wasn't sure anymore who was pushing who away.
"But it's true." Liam added, giving me a wink then extending his hand to Brandon and Barry.
"Well, I don't feel like a Queen and we are all friends here." I smiled at them. "Well, you two are more lovers, goddess you reek of sex."
"Barry is an impatient man." Brandon playfully rolled his eyes. I smiled, feeling a pang of jealousy. I never met two people as in love or handsy as these two. They never seem to get enough of each other. I almost forgot what that felt like.
I knew Liam loved me, and it was a deep love too. He just didn't feel like he deserved to have me all to himself while Jax laid half dead in a coffin. I understood the guilt, but it didn't make me miss his touch any less.
Liam's hand wrapped in mine. "Let's go meet these business owners that want our company."
"I think you'll like this particular one from New York. They remind me of Riley when she first came to us, just a tiny scared human." Brandon pinched my cheeks.
"I can kill you with my bare hands."
"Sure you can." He said like I was lying, but we both knew it was very true.
"You were tiny." Liam shrugged his shoulders.
"I was not. I just wasn't a monster."
"A monster? Is that what you think you are, gorgeous?" Liam put his arm around my waist.
"It doesn't matter. I'm not the same naive little human I used to be." I cleared my throat, hoping someone changed the subject soon.
I never really told anyone how much I didn't like have a freaking werewolf merged with my soul. No, not just a werewolf, the strongest of any, a Lycan.
Liam looked over me, but didn't say a word. I think he knew it was a sore subject for me. I missed being just Riley. I didn't have the best human life, but it wasn't full of death and lost mates either. My dad was alive then.
I loved my mates though and my children, there were no words to describe the love I felt for them. I couldn't wait for them to shift either. I found it fascinating and wanted them to know all their strengths. I just didn't like being one myself.
As if the world was hearing my thoughts of missing my old normal life I was slammed with my past.
"Riley, Liam, this is the company I was speaking with you about. Darrel and his wife Becky flew in this morning and already toured our Seattle office."
I couldn't help but let out a small growl, which I covered with a deep exaggerated cough. I never wanted to see Darrel again, and I thought Becky was my friend. She knew how he tried to force himself on me. That bastard! I forgot about that morning he showed up at my apartment.
