Liam POV

"Most of my men are well rested from the trip. They will start assessing the grounds and coming up with some battle strategies. The dense woods here..."

The second we walked into Riley's and Jax's bedroom I began talking. I needed to get my head in the game. I knew I lost them as being mine, but we were all still alive. That had to matter more than the pit in my stomach.

More than anything, I wanted this all to be over so I could hold my daughter. I felt so at odds about her. I knew I loved her and would protect her against anything, but I didn't even know what she looked liked.

It was weird to feel so incredibly devoted to someone you never met. More than anything I wanted to met her, hold her little body in my arms. She would probably be swaddled in a pink blanket. I was positive she would have her mother's smile too.

As I filled them in about what my pack had been rattling to me in our mind link, Riley stood and kissed me. Her hands fisted in my shirt, lips brushed softly to mine, and she had that damn smile on her face.

She wasn't just her old self again, she was so much more. The confidence radiating from her was euphoric. As depressed as I felt for being nothing to either of them, she made me feel alive and strong.

"What are you doing?" I asked, pulling my head back from hers. Her lips felt amazing on mine, but I can't handle being some toy of hers. She was a Lycan now and I knew that meant she wanted many lovers. The sex drive of a Lycan was off the charts. Once she marked Jax it would settle some, but she will always have a deep need to be satisfied.

"Trying to get you to shut up." She said, looking deep into my eyes.

"I can't play these games, Riley. You don't understand." I shook my head at her. I knew the power she felt. It was exhilarating and you got a high from it. I'm sure her body was filled with desire, both sexually and to show off her strength.

"I don't understand. Not werewolves or Lycans, witches or spells. I do understand myself though."

Jax chuckled at her. "Riley, he isn't a smart man. You have to be specific with him." Jax said while laying on the bed. He looked exhausted and I knew it was the curse wearing him down.

"I know. I think he deserves to be played with a little. Especially after he played with us for so long." Riley's hand ran up my chest, then her arms wrapped around my neck. "You were wrong, Liam."

"Wrong about what?" I asked, taking a hard gulp. Goddess, it was going to be impossible to resist her. I knew if I felt her I would become obsessed, then destroyed when she didn't want anything more from me then to toss around in the sheets.

"Everything." She smiled mischievously at me. "Well not everything. I can feel how pissed Jax is at you. It's weird how connected I feel to him now." Riley looked back to Jax and he gave her a lazy smile.

Jax was a lot more than pissed at me. He wasn't going to let go of the fact I marked Lindsey. It was the one thing he begged me not to do. He felt betrayed by me, and I didn't blame him. I had to do it though.

"Wait until you mark me, beautiful. You'll know all my secrets." He said with his eyes half closed.

"Why can't I mark you right now?" She pouted, making me chuckle.

"Because I want to do it in the most pleasurable way possible." He said. Riley and I both growled at him. The two of them were incredibly sexy.

"We need to put a plan together. I can't resist that intoxicating scent of yours either, Riley. I really don't want you ripping my head off for trying to force myself on you. Maverick is clawing my insides apart right now to get your wolf back."
